Can't wait for United. Pressure's off a little bit with the other results and pundits seem to be finally seeing through Mourinho's anti-football.
Remember this thread when they did though? Absolute ****show, they've never dared come back since Edit: Thought I was in Mouser Watch!
There's another Utd midweek about which I'd forgotten before we play the real Utd. I still think we can do them.
I'm sure SC will disagree with me but I hope we rest a lot of players. A win would be great but if we can consolidate top 4 and push on in the CL then that's far better imo. Billic is getting the tin-tack soon eitherway.
LIDL would probably tell you that your view is subjective and that Jose Mourinho's finger is in the eye of the beholder.
I hope not before we play them because a new coach often gives a struggling team a lift. London derby against a team we had on the ropes but allowed them to come back worries me little.
Just a question about our first goal. Kane seemed to be caught by the keeper but kept his balance and went on to score, fair enough. But would that have been a pen if he'd gone down, and more than that, if he'd missed, could the ref have interpreted it as playing advantage and then given a pen?
That seems to be purely down to the ref, had he completed a pass to another player who missed then no call back, if he was judged to have missed the shot due to the trip then most probably call back to pen. I think it really all comes down to if the ref sees it as denying a goal scoring chance.
Noted. I just seems there's no incentive for a player to stay on their feet. Had Kane missed and not been given a pen then all he would have learned is that there's no point in not going down.
Happened with Stirling last season at city v spurs. Walker pushed him, he stayed on his feet, didn't score and the ref didn't give a penalty
They need to borrow the interpretation of the advantage rule from Rugby where play can go on indefinitely until the referee is satisfied that an advantage has been gained. You generally hear the ref saying 'advantage over' when that point is reached.
My best visit to Wembley yet, what a fantastic performance, every player was on their game, but special mention for Dele, we have been in agreement that he has not been great this season, but a change of role yesterday and he was superb. Great atmosphere too no doubt the best we have created in the matches I have been to at Wembley and the team responded brilliantly. Shame we have the cup match midweek but will be very surprised if we make less than 9 changes to the starting line up with MU and RM following.
Pundits make me despair...City to cruise to the title, lets hand them the trophy etc etc I think stupid people far outweigh normal people in society.
I hope we rest everyone...i know it's West Ham and a cup game. It is a lesser cup and the first team deserves a break.
Agree. Kane going off with cramp at the end is a sign of too many games and I'm sure others must be feeling it.
For this reason, I would absolutely love it if we managed to do a league double on them this season, and that becomes the difference between us at the end of the season. What would the pundits say then?
They would say it's because we treated every home game like a Cup final because we were at Wembley. We had the advantage of playing in the National Stadium. City lost Mendy and only had 15 full backs left to choose from. It was always a 3 year project for Pep so it's no surprise Spurs won it Mourinho didn't have Felleini for the crucial part of the season Pool didn't buy VVD or they would have won it Etc etc....the world is their Oyster
