It's a mistake to blame Janssen. The supporting '3' have been abysmal. Kane playing in front of them wouldn't score either.
Thought we did quite well. We looked the better side for most of the half and created more opportunities. Liverpool have been really poor so I guess it's not that hard to be the better side but still, a good performance in a flat atmosphere(13th man lol). We were a bit unlucky with the goal, N'Koudou's slip followed by an errant pass deflecting straight to Sturridge. Was shocked when Smith said that young right back wouldn't have even had a foul against him if he'd got the ball. He was off the ground and out of control. Was lucky not to be a red. It''s like the McLean one, it just feels like the refs are waiting for one of our players to get a serious injury before they produce a red. And here come the half-time Liverpool half-time cheer leaders. Apparently Sturridge could've had a hattrick on another day Hopefully we'll see more from Carroll in the second half as I think he's been our only weak link. Would like to see Winks and N'koudou be a bit more proactive too but they've been decent so far.
This is such a no-mark game that the usual Spurs "pundits" could not be arsed to turn up for Sky Sports.
I'm not that bothered if we lose, just want us see us go down with a fight if we do. Don't want this game to just end 1-0 with us just playing to keep the score down.
Watch his runs and timing, he's so off its agonising. His far post header was dreadful, was in acres of space watching a floating ball yet went forward and overran the flight of the ball. Basic stuff
FC Ural Yekaterinburg ...although I wouldn't place any hopes in him, given he's scored fifteen goals in the four years since we sold him.
You've got to give him some leeway as he's a kid, but it was really poor. Studs up, both feet off the ground and he really launched himself. Klopp will have had a word, I'd have thought.
Yeah, I didn't particularly want him sent off, I just thought he was lucky not to get a red since the rules don't make special allowances for kids. Also, I meant Quinn not Smith
Here's one thing I've been wondering lately: since part of the reason we bought Janssen was so we could play two up top in games where we needed an added dimension, how comes we haven't tried a Janssen/Son pairing up front? For example, Janssen coming on for the last half hour against Bournemouth would've given them something to think about, rather than replacing Son with Janssen and continuing to play as before.
