Some of our play has been bad, particularly defensively towards our end of the middle third - just very sloppy passing. Some of our play going forward has been very good though, and have Liverpool created a clear-cur chance that hasn't been from a Spurs error? I'd like to see Townsend and Chadli but I'd wait a bit because Dembele is having another good game and Lamela is working his socks off.
BTW link 6 stream is NBC which does not get interrupted like the SKY ones and the commentary is one of the best I have heard in years with simple no nonsense details of who is playing the ball and I think Phil Neville as the 'expert' Don't know who is actually commentating.
I seem to make similar posts in every match thread....Lamela keeps giving the ball away. He has a decent run of games but for me he has not proved that he is an effective EPL player. Its time we looked elsewhere and given how stretched this game is I would like to see Townsend replace him at half time. For me Lamela is simply not good enough.
What's going on with the pitch at Anfield? Looks... well, crap. Not sure Lloris can blame it for their goal, but you expect a bit better, really.
David James doesn't think that it was a penalty, because Kane didn't touch the ball. What the hell does that have to do with anything?
I think their tactics, which are well-conceived, are to hang around just near enough to intercept a wayward pass, then break with runners getting in behind our press. I can see why we’ve lost four straight to them. They’ve forced us out of of our game to some extent, as we’re dawdling on the edge of the box, partly to limit their chances to break, I would guess. I’m not sure if abandoning the high press is an option at this point, but if ever there was a good time to do it, it might be now. They’ve outnumbered us in both penalty boxes too often. Still, lively game. COYS!
Bollocks. It was a pen to be fair, Bentaleb was drawn away from Sturridge just before the Englishman drew the foul. What a try from Lamela there though!
