It's on News Now Tottenham Hotspur"My Spurs are built to win the PL this year." I'm not watching this match today, see you Monday.
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...Premier-League-boasts-Pochettino-to-Liverpool Here's the article. No direct quotes for any of the sensational claims, looks like a journo taking the mickey and attempting to derail the juggernaut. Not even the 'Special One' quote is true, he says he and his team are special, very different.
Just the usual crap. I am surprised how universal it seems to be in the UK, and, perhaps, in football, to feel that putting pressure on the other side is always a good thing. In the US there's a long tradition of talking s**t and welcoming the pressure it brings. Ali was the pioneer, but Joe Namath guaranteeing a Super Bowl win was nearly as remarkable. The feeling is that while of course you'll look like a fool if you don't come through, the very fact that you're willing to risk looking like a fool shows you have a confidence and determination others lack. There's always someone saying, "Yeah, the pressure is on us--but we love pressure."
But if he did say all this then yes he looks a prick when he loses and we are left to pick up the pieces. "Ready willing and able to succeed Mourinho as the special one" is written there YV.
Pochettino & Rodgers have met head to head 3 times. It's 2-1 to Pochettino as it stands. Let's hope he can increase his lead this afternoon. Or, at least, avoid the equaliser!...
That is exactly what he is saying. Usual tabloid crap for me - quotes used out of context trying to make him sound arrogant.
To an extent that true - but Sturridge is versatile and can play out wide too. Also he's the first striker in Livepools history to get 36 goals in 50 games. He got overshadowed last season due to Suarez, and I have a feeling that someone like Sterling will overshadow him this season. He's probably the most underated striker in the PL considering the stats. I think 36 in 50 works out at 1.39 goals per game. Yet people still question his ability? I find this odd - I'm not saying you do, but in general people tend to
For me, Sturridge is a player I would love to have - he scores goals. Goals win games. One of the most stupid critiques of Jimmy Greaves, by some genius journalist, was that he did nothing much but score goals. Yeah maybe, But man, did be score a lot of goals!...
lot of goals, more like a f**ing lot of goals, imagine his price in his prime in today's markets!!,he would cost more than Messi!
No - 36 goals in 50 games would be 1.39 goals per game. This is only league games we're talking about, but still very impressive.
No it's not. It's less goals than games, so the number is less than one. Unless you are taking away time for substitutions.
"No direct quotes for any of the sensational claims, looks like a journo taking the mickey and attempting to derail the juggernaut." Which is why the football press have to be taken to task for sensationalism in their headlines/words. As well as what is effectively lying when it comes to player transfer activity. I read an ES article by Fat Sam about his musings on why LVG has not got sorted yet at Man Utd. He wrote about not have UK training sessions with them before the USA tour, which cannot be ideal but the tour was arranged. The headline : Louis van Gaal was decimated by Manchester United's greed for dollars. And not one mention of "greed" .
