with the time the new stadium is taking to get going we might as well buy a plot of land up there for it
The thing is this. I've had plenty of Gooners, Chavs and Mousers tell me that they get my humour and that they even find it amusing. However, there is a humourless, hard-of-thinking element on this site that is determined to crush any sign of intelligent merriment as soon as it attempts to lay down roots. I genuinely believe it's down to the fact that I make them feel intellectually inferior. Unfortunately for the majority of users of this site, these people end up becoming mods (our own fantastically humourous, wit-loving and knowledgeable mods excluded, of course). Yes, I have expressed this particular lamentation in the past, during which dark period I was full of indignant rage and ire; but I have come to accept that that is just the way the internet-cookie crumbles, and I have made myself content with what I have. Still, I do often wonder, had I been a Gooner instead of a Yid, at the fun I would have had on their board. By and large, you guys have bought into my humour, but there are so many humourless muppets on the Gooner board that I really could have some comedy gold fun with my deadpan delivery. But, then, I remind myself that I would rather drink my own piss than be a Gooner, and the moment passes.
All I do know is that when HIAG writes such an article, it will be totally objective and no WUMming will be allowed.
"Intelligent Merriment" Could you visit the Pompey board & introduce a new concept to them? They won't talk to me........
It appears to be a golden rule of the kind of tribalism that currently exists among football fans, that one group (particularly the non-Spurs mods on this site) cannot abide the intellectual and comedic genius of the more gifted among opposing supporters. For example, the Gooner, Chav, and Mouser mods abhor me. And I'm not one to blow my own trumpet, no matter the fact that that particular trumpet happens to be very, very large, and very, very shiny.
Dear old Peskie ( bless him) banned me when I had the "temerity" to point out that I failed to see how he could be expected to moderate the behaviour of others, when he was incapable of moderating his own.
