I am pleased to see changes, with Sess and Kulu I think both deserving of their places and Sonny needed to be given a break, I hope he comes on today against tiring defenders and gets his goal. Perisic on the right must be annoying for all 3 specialist right sided players, and whilst I don't want to question Conte, its strange that he considers that Perisic has settled into a new league well enough to play in a different position, and Bissouma is still not ready for a start in our system. Its a must win game they all are and we need a performance as well as a win because we are not playing well.
I’m not sure he will, two RWBs are easily rotatable in congested fixtures and it’s clear he’s not one of the first two in mind… bizarrely. It’s really poor from Conte in my opinion, I said before that he doesn’t have a reputation of pushing and promoting young players but it’s a bit different here with Spence, he’s played a decent amount of games before joining us, made the TOTY in the Championship, put in quality performances against Prem sides in the FA Cup, has better attributes for the RWB spot than Emerson and Doherty yet is getting the Poch-KWP treatment. As for Son, should have happened two or three games back. Think it’ll do him some good too though, his speed and finishing ability against tired legs is a nightmare for the opposition, could be chances for him when he comes on.
When I was a wee nipper (c.1961) my family had a poodle named '***got'. Calling that dog to come back when having a run on Tooting Bec Common must have been interesting!
Perisic on the right seems a strange one but I think he’s right to drop Son. I’m guessing @PowerSpurs won’t be happy though
Conte didn’t particularly want Spence and I don’t think he’ll play unless he really has no other option as looks like he’s 4th choice now.
Yeah it’s looking like it. It’s weird that he signed off on the deal when he has almost zero intent on playing the player.
His comments on Spence always sounded weird, he said an important player for the future but to me I always felt he meant after his time at the club. Same as Sarr. It’s a shame as I think both could play their part this season, especially Spence as Emerson and Doherty have not really nailed down that spot.
My word Sanchez you’re horrendous. Fails to kick a ball as he often does then gives away a pen after the mistake.
Idiocy from Sanchez, first from the clearance and then to dive in like that. Definitely contact, you can argue Justin trod on Sanchez but to go to ground there and not get the ball is just not good enough. Lloris bails him out first time but Tielemans buries it the second. Conte will be fuming. We actually looked like we were making a good, intense start before that.
Sorry to keep going on but the lack of signing a top centre back is already costing the team and we’re not even in October yet
