I remember people were talking about some team with an excellent manager, excellent transfer policy and (here's one I remember specifically) where only two of our players would get in theirs. That wasn't the team we played yesterday was it?
I like to think that the combination of Vardy's diving and their fans being...well, their fans served as an incentive to nick the three points
Nah. I think the club you are talking about also has blah blah blah training facilities blah blah blah.
Thought I would catch up with MOTD to see their balanced review of the game....Oh well wishful thinking. Schmeichel is a bad loser isn't he lol. Strangely they didn't show either penalty incident again, the 2nd one is probably the worst dive I have seen this season. On another note at least they got goal of the season right.
That Schmeichel interview was truly a thing of beauty. Complaining about a non existent handball and non existent foul but after getting 2 penalties claims nothing went their way ... should have offered him chips and vinegar to go with those salty tears
Bale's celebrations for each goal didn't help matters for them, he was lapping up the fact he ruined their CL hopes
Vardys antics seemed to really piss them off. There was a massive sense of entitlement in schmeichel's interview. It's really poor that no football journalists pulled his tantrum apart and analysed Vardys cheating for the second penalty or the appalling decision of VAR and the ref to not change their minds. Personally had no issue with the 1st penalty but that second one was beyond a joke. Arrogant twat giving it the big I am when he scored was worth it when the final whistle went
The diving aside as I really don't like it from any player, Spurs or not, Vardy has the characteristics I love in players, always looking to wind up opposition fans and players with his ****housery. When it doesn't pay off, like Sunday, it's funny as **** for us but so many times he gets the opposition fizzing, lol. Dele used to be like that in his first couple seasons and I think it was something that endeared fans to him. Far cry from that player or person nowadays.
I agree...Vardy has every right to piss opposition fans and players off but the diving is a joke and he is never accused of it by pundits. Yesterday's second penalty was not untypical of what he does and gets away with imo.
Tbh honest I watched the game on my phone and from what I saw there was no clear definitive shot that showed it hit his hand. If there was then it should have been ruled out. But that simply means Var and the officials were even more dhit than I thought tbh...and we'd still have won by two goals and finished above the goons in a prestigious new European competition
I am not sure anyone here has said that, I for one was very surprised that the goal stood but if the VAR official thought that Vardy was actually fouled for the 2nd penalty then its probably not a surprise that he thinks that the handball was in a different 'phase of play' to the shot which is clearly bollox, but maybe just confirmation of his incompetence! I think the main point we were making was that the handball was bought up in the analysis on MOTD but the ease with each Vardy fell over wasn't, and this has been a constant since the season that they won the league when we were frequently told how clever he was for drawing the foul.
A different style of player, but always thought similar of Mark Hughes and to a lesser extent Kevin Davies. Loathed, but admired in equal measure.
One more for the road please log in to view this image Obviously it's not as representative of our play due to neither Bale nor Lucas being included, although on the other hand it sort of is because six months ago Bale or Lucas would have likely been named in one of the stats down the left hand side in spite both coming on with twenty minutes to go Also, one thing that does seem to stand out is how both of our CMs have a use, because both Winks and Hojbjerg are available for passes out from the back and the FBs (and it does look weird that Hojbjerg is receiving passes from Doherty while Winks is receiving passes from Reguilon) and you can see that Mason's tactics revolve around quick passes from central midfield as opposed to hitting it long and ****ing defending. Oh, and don't tell Dier Hard, but you can see Winks is moving the ball up to Dele on this map... More than anything else, what sticks out is you can see that different players aren't deployed in the same way like they were a few months ago, because we can see Bergwijn is sticking to the flank compared to Bale and Lamela who cut inside to receive and move the ball, and it has to be said Doherty isn't roaming around as much as Aurier does on these things yet also isn't in more of a supporting role like Tanganga or Davies In short, can we see a lot more maps along these lines next season, where we can see things such as attacking intent and players not being hammered into roles regardless of what they can or cannot do?
They've changed the rule and that's wasn't quick enough to be classed as "immediate", apparently. That's if the ball actually hit his hand at all, which is debatable. Take both goals away and send Vardy off for multiple dives, if it makes you feel better, though. Can't say I'm surprised to see a Man Utd fan trying to divert attention away from simulation, to be honest.
Note to Lesta : The last 3 PL games where you have played Spurs in May, you have conceded at least 4 goals in each on the way to defeat. I suggest you have a word with the PL fixture schedulers.
