One problem that certainly cropped up today, and has been common for a while, is that when our opponents drop deep some of our players are guilty of overplaying the ball which allows their defenders an extra second to get into position. Son was guilty of trying to be too intricate in and around the box, while Chadli morphed into Townsend when he got near the area and took the shot - the difference being that while Townsend would blast the ball towards the floodlights, Chadli would hit a tame low shot that Schmeichel had all the time in the world to prepare himself for.
The one thing we lacked today was someone with physical presence in the area: Rose was causing Leicester all manner of problems down the left during the first half, while in the second half Trippier was getting some good deliveries in from the right, but we didn't have anyone breaking forward who could've done something to make the most of these chances until we brought on Kane and Alli.
In terms of the changes, I'll take what Spurcat and Citizen Kane said about the back line, plus I've read similar comments here and on other sites, and I have to wonder why Vorm doesn't inspire confidence from our defenders. For example, the Alderweireld/Wimmer pairing looked very comfortable against Monaco last month when they had Lloris behind them, and they looked comfortable today when we were on top of things in the first half - but once Leicester started to put us under pressure neither of them looked anywhere near as comfortable defensively, and their passing didn't seem to be as accurate or effective as it was in the first half either.

It’s a matter of tempo. We attack effectively when we get the ball at the goal while our players are running into the box. We’ve done better getting the tempo right this year. We were particularly good against West Ham. We were good for the first part of the first half today. But we still revert to tapping it around and over-elaborating too often.
It really is a sign of the times, isn’t it? And he’s doing such a good job, too!
I find that this problem is worse when Chadli and Son are on the pitch. It's one of the reasons why Chadli in particular will never be an 'impact sub' as was the intention against Everton: he slows the pace of play down drastically.

Great cup-tie for the neutral but suspect both teams could have done without the replay.

Yes, you're right, I think a replay is an unwanted distraction for both of us. It'll be interesting to see if we both still leave out as many first team regulars.
So long as they don't get too rude and derail loads of threads the wums are alright with us. We even have a Liverpool wum which is quite entertaining when you look at the table but sadly we lost our Southampton wum this season. No idea where he went but I hope he's okay
Yeah, the replay's a pain. The cup draws have really screwed us this year and made it difficult for us to know when to rest players and how many to rest. Others may disagree but I'd happily risk our FA Cup progress more by fielding weaker sides if it meant we were in the mix for top 4 or the Europa League but the difficulty of getting top 4, plus drawing Fiorentina make it a tough call.
Hopefully Mason will be back for the replay so we can rest our first choice midfielders by starting our first choice partnership from last season(who were pretty good). Having another striker to start as well would be nice but it doesn't look like that will be happening anytime soon.

Disappointing as I thought we were well worth the win. Your boys didn't look too bothered about going out and played with a lack of urgency. Did Kane touch the ball before the penalty?
On that note, awful refereeing. That's two penalty decisions that have gone your way this season against us. Hopefully the referee on Wednesday makes up for it!

I agree that some of the refereeing was bad. He missed numerous fouls and one double handed shove in Alli's back that he let go was unbelievable!
As to the penalty, it's subjective. Only the player knows what his intent was. The ref sees his arm move away from the side of his body and knock the ball from Rose's path. It you do that in the area you risk giving a penalty away, intent or no intent.
I thought the referee was a breath of fresh air aside from King's push on Alli and failing to book Alli for a poor tackle on Chilwell.
I agree that you risk a penalty when moving your hand towards the ball but common sense has to prevail. He puts his arm put to jostle with Rose. In the time that he turns around the ball flicks up and hits his hand. Hes not even finished rotating his face during the time between the ball hitting Dyers ankle to the time it hits his face. It's a bit of a poor decision, especially since the referee couldn't see clearly. He's seen the ball change direction mid air and, if we are being honest, he's guessed.
Shame we're talking about the ref after a decent game but hopefully it revs our lads up for the next couple of games against you.
The referee's angle was from behind. He sees the arm come out and the ball diverted, you can see what his thinking was. I'm still not 100% sure if it was intentional or not, TBH.
I guess if it had been given against us I'd have been not too happy, but that's football.
Decent game, thought we were marginally better and dominated large spells of play with the lion's share of possession but didn't do enough in the final third to say we really deserved a win. We had a very much rotated side, as did Leicester, so it had periods where you could tell the fluidity wasn't at it's best as the sides hadn't played too much competitively with one another. Can't really think of any stand out performers, no one was terribly bad either. The penalty was one of those where if it goes against you, you complain and if it goes for you, you say it's just. Dyer's hand pushed the ball away from Rose and his arm is massively outstretched, it wasn't ball-to-hand either so I suppose in the letter of the law, it IS a penalty albeit from the common sense point of view a very soft one. A draw on the night was probably fair although both sides really could've done without a replay.
Should make for a good game on Wednesday night, both team's starting XI will no doubt be much stronger and both of us need to win to strengthen impressive positions in the league, I'll always fancy us against anyone at the Lane though.

It was a harsh penalty decision. Not the most outrageous you'll see by any measure, but harsh nonetheless. If we had been Liverpool, there's no way there would've been the uproar among the pundits that ensued after the game. Besides, I don't think any leicester fans can argue that we didn't deserve at least a draw on the balance of play.
As for the replay, superb says I. With every PL match crucial now and most probably tough EL opposition from here on in, the FA Cup is the only chance left this season for the likes of Wimmer, Onomah and Pritchard to learn the ropes. It's also a crucial platform for our the members of our ever-populated injury list to regain match fitness.
