I didn't see the league game, I was out. I did, however, see the cup game. We had, I believe, 74% possession and created next to nothing given all that possession. There was no cutting edge, no incisiveness, and seemingly no answer to the well organised defense Leicester put up. It desperately needed a plan B to try and break them down. We didn't have one!
I think that either his club, his agent or both are trying to get someone to bid for him by linking him to virtually every team in the press. It was Newcastle, Liverpool and Stoke earlier in the week, then a rumour about him only wanting to sign for us popped up. It's been Chelsea and now you lot since that and a rumour that our interest in him is over has surfaced, too. We're being linked with lots of alternatives right now (Dembele II, Remy, Baston, Lookman, etc.) which all has a faint smell of Levy about it. Some of those are youth options, but I can also see some of his trademark Transfer Chicken going on, I think.
Seeing the highlights reminded me that the incident that I liked most in the game was oddly one which we wasted. It was where we broke quickly from their corner and Lamela fired wide, but the bit I liked was where we broke with five players against two defenders. It showed so much of the new Spurs in terms of fitness, pace and desire.
Our noble cockerel odd looking? What does that make Ze Liverbird? Also, here are comments on your sig: first, I like it. Second: why is it that five different people read key rule interpretations like what constitutes a handball five different ways? The answers I’ve come up with are: 1. The FA are complete buffoons. 2. Like many people, the FA need to analyze process, and user test rules so that they are commonly understood by everyone. 3. The FA consciously makes rules which defy clear interpretation. By doing so, they give refs wiggle room to award key points to certain teams when they need them. (The long tradition of refs not enforcing the rules as written does this as well).
