Well we fell apart once Roca was subbed (our 2nd best player on the park imo!), his replacement wasn't even like for like, bringing on Ayling to amble around in the penalty box with Cooper marking fresh air lost us the match, we were actually controlling the game until that ridiculous pointless substitution.

Controlling the game… so the half time gnonto/greenwood substitution must have worked then :emoticon-0105-wink:

Not sure about that but we did play well in both halves.

    Facts however;

    1st half Won 2-1
    2nd half Lost 1-3

Final score them 4 us 3.

Of course the sub wasn’t like for like… he was changing the formation to 5 at the back so brought a defender on. I don’t imagine the instructions were for Ayling to amble around, cooper to head back across his own goal and Koch to disappear up his own arse. Although I accept that’s what it looked like <laugh>

If Marsch left it as it was… and they score anyway he gets rinsed for not trying to see the game out. It didn't work. Hindsight's a wonderful thing.

By the way… love you managing to give kristenson an assist for his header earlier in the move for the first. That’s a proper man crush you got there fella :emoticon-0105-wink:

Yes all hindsight, nevertheless there was no need to change to five at the back as we were in control of the game, we lost our composure with that substitution. Haven't you noticed apart from the Villa home game, we concede more goals with ten or eleven of our players in our own box :emoticon-0145-shake bringing on Ayling confused our defensive set-up as they didn't know who to mark, championship defending at best.

As for Rodrigo's first goal, Cooper headed the Spurs clearance towards their box, Rasmas headed it into the path of Rodders, an assist for Kristensen. I watch all Leeds matches twice, the second time is from an analysis point of view.

We were 1-2 up with Gnonto in the side, our young 19yo had some lovely touches rarely losing the ball, no need for that change too.

I haven’t watched it back fella so this is a genuine question - ignoring the score, the formation changed after the break… did we look more in control to you. The change was apparently to mitigate Kane pulling cooper out of position.

Also Gnonto’s first start in PL, got hoofed a bit… and generally been used as impact sub his entire career to date.

Yes, we were in more control prior to our second & third goals. Spurs were becoming very frustrated & certainly didn't look like the side that ran rings round us in the final ten minutes.

No doubt we can’t hang on to leads whatever formation we play. My point really is, 100% they will practice that 541 as a game closing formation with different personnel. Quite clearly they need to practice it more <laugh>… but one man’s pointless change is another’s sensible attempt to game manage - that didn’t work.

But do take your point that if we looked in control maybe it was an unnecessary complication for tiring legs and minds.

<ok> So halftime formation change worked… even if Willy can consider himself an unfortunate sacrifice. Going to back 5 proved a clusterfck <laugh>

You do have to question why we would need to go five at the back when we play two holding midfielders. Surely if one is tiring we should have an adequate replacement to come on and help to control the game. I’ve yet to remember a game where we’ve played well when switching to three CBs.

Yeh I don't like us with a 5 either. Personally I think we're a squad member light in terms of DMs. We sold one and bought two... but we play with two now... so we're actually more exposed to injury/suspension - as the Man City game may emphasise. He plays Greenwood in midfield, but we'd gone to 433 so he was already on. It should be Gyabi... but he's 18 and whilst he looks a footballer, not sure he's best suited to closing a game out.

Be lovely if the Weston McKinnie rumours had substance.

Listening to talkSPORT and Andy Jacobs said you won’t watch two better games than Leeds v Bournemouth & Tottenham v Leeds in the whole of the World Cup and that’s the point. Premier league is just the best of football.

True Roca is a hard tackler and taking him off give spurs the room to move nearer our box , also when will manager learn about Cooper he is not good enough and needs to be sold along with laurente who is not good enough , Koch is up and down and firpo does not get back in time .
NOBODY rushed out to block the 2 shots that spurs scored from just outside the box .

Looking forward to choosing your avi for a month when England go further than Wales.

It's the only interest I have in the whole tournament.

Hopefully Wales will qualify from the group so we can get our two USA internationals back unscathed as soon as possible.
