Flat atmosphere. Flat performance. Switched off twice all game and we pay the penalty. We lost through sheer inexperience.
Only 3 minutes extra. .... at least 4 and that’s without the time wasting. Oh well.....we didn’t help ourselves
Not accurate enough with the chances in the 1st half. But credit to Juventus, they have not been recent finalists because of luck or poor ref decisions.
3 not 5, and 9 in the first match. All about concentration. But as long as we learn from it. It might mean that we prioritise the FA Cup now.
Poch was found out tonight. Allegri reacted and changed things and we didn’t react. We keep saying that we have learnt lessons but it always seems that when the big challenges come up we’re still not there. Disappointing, but we need to start winning these games. Might have been different 11 v 10.......
You expect us to draw them again in the group stages next season or you think Spurs and Madrid will meet in the final next year?
Shame about the second half performance, but a lot to be proud of. An extremely tricky CL campaign from day 1, and we’ve played so well over the 8 matches. Juventus have reached the final in the last 2 out of 3 seasons because despite not actually being particularly glamourous, they just know how to get the job done. Nothing to be ashamed of. Credit where it’s due. Overall they’ve kept Kane quiet over 2 legs and you have to credit their manager for making the required changes. I knew it’d happen, and sadly again, Poch kept things the same for too long and it cost us tonight. A massive improvement on last season and some great moments. Onto the league and the FA cup. COYS
Inexperience, I agree. At 1-0 (3-2 on agg), they would have stopped looking for another goal and tried to retain possession. Play against your natural instincts and shut them out. Play them at their own game.
He does leave his subs a bit too late for me. I wanted Lamela on for the last 25 mins. I assume Llorente instead of Moura because Juventus were in defensive mode. However there was no crossing service to Kane all game, so that was wishful thinking IMHO.
Fair points and Llorente did mix it up when he came on. Just think Lucas might have provided the extra direct legs we were lacking in the last 20. Sonny was spent and we couldn’t find any space.
That’s my only criticism too. Juve’s changes were so blatantly obvious. Dier looked ****ed. Why wasn’t Wanyama on sooner? Alli was ineffective for way too long and when they made changes it didn’t suit his style. Like you say, Lamela should have had longer. Anyhoo, we shouldn’t dwell on the very few negatives there have been in the CL this season. We’ve had so many awesome moments.
