It's not skiving off. Tomorrow is International Women's Day, so none of the Women who work on the mine have to come to work. Today is Spurs in Europe again day, so, quite rightly you should be allowed to knock off early. Many years ago I was RE on a site in Beaconsfield. The World Cup was going on so I had a TV installed in the mess hut. I announced a rule that said that when Ireland were playing, the Irish could stop work and watch it and when England were playing, the English could stop work to watch the game. 'What about us?' peeped up a Glaswegian know to us all only as 'Mad Dog'. I stopped to consider his request for less than a second before the words, 'Fek-off, you didn't qualify' came out of my mouth. I few minutes later I felt a little guilty about that, but unfortunately, the die had been cast.
Stunned into silence, then desperately trying not to burst into tears as he falls to his knees! Seems like it really means a lot to him. Hope that the team makes him proud later.
Another one of our successful Ajax alumni. Seems to hold a real affection for Spurs, despite not being at the club for long.
I got one of these bogus alarms with a phone number to ring. It wouldn't let me close anything so I went to retstart and that's cleared it.
Have an extra sing/shout on my behalf, NKNG! Still recovering from the knee surgery, so cannot make it to Wembley for a while! (Wembley Way is a killer for the likes of me - even before the op it was a real struggle!) COYS!!!!
BBC leading with...... now let me guess...... Yep ‘Toby Alderweireld will miss Tottenham's Champions League last-16 second leg against Juventus on Wednesday. The Belgium defender returned last month after three months out with a hamstring injury but will not be available at Wembley.’ Nice of them to actually mention the fact that he was injured previously, but inferring otherwise on this occasion. Oh well, never let a few facts dull their favourite narrative.
