Why not just say the last team to pull back a 2 goal deficit against them at home went on to win the tournament, it sounds better.
....... and Palace are awarded a ridiculous penalty after 5 minutes.......... That's when you know you're a true Spur!
Dembele : just wow. Is it the case that his injury problems are behind him, or have the physio squad worked out how to manage his problems so we get a lot more performances like this month ??
I have my suspicions that he was playing semi-fit for a large chunk of the early season. Wanyama was out, Winks was massively short of match fitness before getting injured again and Toby's injury meant that we needed Dier in a more defensive role. There wasn't much choice but to push him to play.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri warned against an overly critical reaction, saying: "This really drives me nuts. ... "We have a draw against Tottenham in the Champions League and it is like a big loss. It is not like this. "Juventus has never been favourites in this tie. We had 50% possibility before the match and we still have that after this match." That rarest of men, one who regarding football never reads anything put in print or on the Internet, nor watches "pundits" on TV.
Metro's response to our performance? Post an article saying that Demble could leave for China before the second leg...

Seven of the Juventus starting XI yesterday started in the 2017 CL final. Add that to the similar nine from Madrid who played Spurs at Wembley. < past it > < in decline >
On Spurs Community, it's being said that Mousa Dembele had 10% possession. The whole Juventus team together only managed into the 30's. That's just bonkers.
That Wheelchair piccie text needs to be changed to : Please ref, Dembele won't give us the ball back !!!
A Congolese colleague said to me today, "I used to follow Man Utd but nowadays they are boring, do you mind if I start following Tottenham?" I replied mind? You are welcome! I know I am quite vocal in my support but it amuses me that he felt it necessary to ask my permission. Perhaps we are beginning to attract plastics or perhaps he just likes good football. Long may it continue.
Today's newspaper is tomorrow's fish and chip paper! Obviously there is a collective loss of ability in the immediate aftermath of winning or appearing in the final of the world's biggest club tournament. Didn't you realise that?
The answer is a fair bit of both. The commercial reality however is do those supporters contribute specifically to the club bottom line (TV subscriptions, merchandising etc) . Africa currently not so. The Far East are far more affluent and equally fickle, hence the additional current value of Son to the club.
Africa have Supersport who show all 380 premier league matches live. They obviously have to contribute to the TV money. They also give Tim "nice but dim, I discovered Harry Kane" Sherwood a job every week as a pundit.
They probably get a "developing region" status which means they don't pay reams compared to UK / Far East broadcasters.
