Thanks for the reminder, I'd totally forgotten it was an early kick off. Has Holtby taken a dump in AVB's cornflakes or something? He just can't get a game at the moment.
I'd rather see Carroll in there. If they don't bother to close us down again Carroll would have a party.
5 minutes of Spurs build up with all the talk about whether Inter can get back into the tie, then ads, followed by talking about the Chelsea game. With the pundits for some reason as Strachan and the Nose so no Chelsea or Spurs relation there. I hate ITV.
Certainly can't question the way AVB has introduced new players this season generally, but I am with YV in this instance. Holtby appears to be involved less and less rather than more and more.... Not going to die in a ditch either way for now, but would have thought this would have been a game right up his street: energy and European experience. Playing what appears to be a 4-4-2 tonight does seem a bit strange on the face of it.
Seems logical to me., We nick one, then replace either Defoe or Ade and tighten up at the back. Therefore Bobs your Aunties brother.
Free entry for season ticket holders and they get to see teh mighty Spurs? I can't work it out either.
I expected a reasonably strong team, but not this strong. Well, can't complain--except I would have rested Dembele. Good from Vertonghen.
I'd rather see Carroll on than Livermore here. He suits the possession game we seem to be trying to play and Livermore's touch has let him down once or twice already. I think Parker would be destructive enough on his own.
That's not good. Our defence has looked suspect so far as well. They have seemed to break through far too easily too often.
Great!! Naughton goes missing at LB and Walker does the same on the right.... Just what we didn't need
