The officials for the 2nd leg are Modric supporting Croatians, and one of the Uefa overseer's is German.

Oh, great... <doh>
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lan-Ref-sent-blind-mans-stick-angry-fans.html
The referee of tomorrow's Europa League match between Tottenham and Inter Milan has been sent a blind man's white stick by frustrated fans of Croatian side Hajduk Split 'to help him referee the game fairly'.
Bebek admitted after the game on his Facebook profile that in hindsight he failed to call a clear penalty in favour of Hajduk Split.

Well that's encouraging, isn't it?

Can't be worse than our 3 or 4 disallowed goals against Lazio can it PNP?

Tell me it can't!

Platini was there for the first leg and the fans of Lazio have paid him back with a banner saying the following:
Heysel 29/05/85. You had the strength to play..& to celebrate in the face of 39 deaths..Platini..you have no morals."
Weren't impressed with the ban for constantly being racist and abusive, apparently. They've now also been fined €10,000.

I read that a couple of days ago. The "Platini banner" fine was more than the "being racist" fine. Typical.

What Inda said. Plus it's arguably fair comment, and doesn't it come under the banner of free speech? It's hardly libel (or slander, can never remember which is which).

tots the French have a huge inferiority complex which makes them seem arrogant. They feel that they must push themselves forward to others because they think others think the same way about them as they think themselves. I find it's easy to rile the French so I don't do it.

I'm not answering any wums today and making no forecasts about the score and it's my advice to all of us. Over confidence and greed has led to the downfall of many so I'm staying well down on the match tonight. Arsenal almost did it,Barca did do it so this is Thor finding a peaceful garden in Asgard and shutting up for the duration.

Umm ! can we talk about the match for a minute
Reports from the OS say that Ade and Azza have travelled to Milan with the squad.
Obviously AVB is not being complacent and will field a strong team.

I know we have Bale out and Lennon will probably be touch and go but it looks like Inter are still massively depleted:

"Stramaccioni has withdrawn Alvaro Pereira, Dejan Stankovic, Ezequiel Schelotto and Marco Benassi from his squad to face Tottenham.

Argentine pair Diego Milito and Walter Samuel are also missing through injury."

From the BBC.

This is a game we don't need to win a draw is fine so arguably players like Dembele, Parker and Vertonghen would be a bigger loss than Bale. We need to keep this game under control and they can do this. Not that I think we should play for a draw, score and they have a mountain to climb.

14. Other than the fact that he (of our two strikers) is the only one that can remotely play the lone striker/target man in a game when we are likely going to set up that way 'defensively' without Bale and possible also Lennon.....

Bavaria Munich (or, if you prefer, Bayern München) showed what can happen if you turn up thinking about the next round before getting the job done,

We won't start Lennon, though we may be looking to give him a runout at seventy minutes or so.

I hope Ade is ready to go, because I'd rest Dembele if at all possible.

Naughton
Caulker
Gallas
Beni

Livermore/Parker
Carroll

Gylfi
Holtby
Ade/Dembele

Defoe

Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Naughton; Dembele, Parker, Livermore, Sigurdsson; Defoe, Adebayor
Lloris, Caulker, Huddlestone, Assou-Ekotto, Carroll, Holtby, Lennon

Playing 442? Surely 4-2-3-1 would have been better?
