I'm not up for being fair, you should know that Yeah, Caulker deserves a goal. Should have had 3 against Spam
I felt the sameway and it's not the first time we've done it either, in the groups we were playing like that with the score at 0-0/1-0. Bale was definitely looking to set himself up for another long ranger for much of the second half and the rest were similarly trying to get themselves on the scoresheet ahead of finishing the job against Inter. On the plus side, when we weren't so comfortable it was good to see everyone working hard and limiting Inter's chances, just like we did against Arsenal. Still a 4th would have been a real killer and if we take the same attitude we had at 3-0 to the San Siro we'll find ourselves in trouble.
Defoe's always desperate to score, but he took it a bit too far yesterday. That breakaway was just the easiest goal we'd have had on the night and he could've put Bale or Walker in for a tap in.
AVB should show them a clip of Draxler at the weekend. They were 2-1 up and he was on a hattrick and running through, one on one with the 'keeper before squaring it to Farfan to knock it into an empty net. I know it wasn't exactly the same as 3-0 up but last year Arsenal nearly turned around a 4-0 first leg loss and they're rubbish!
Anyone been on the Forza Inter forum today? Is the other "Gareth Balle" troll from this forum too? Own up if it's you.
When I saw the comments I thought the same as Spurm but you may be right. Bottom line was we outfought them from first whistle to last - so much more desire from every quarter. Agree about giving Caulker a game although If they get their act together at the San Siro that could be quite intimidating - the sort of atmosphere maybe better suited to Gallas and Dawson, at least to start with. Heaven knows how Inter are going to learn how to defend against our 'aerial threat' in the next 6 days!!!!
I have! The other? what, one of the trolls was one of us??!! hahaha who was it?? I noticed some of our fans were apologizing for the initial troll. - They deserved it IMO. some of their comments were so complacent and arrogant.
For the return i'd play - Lloris (I want him to be involved so IF we win, he gets a medal) Walker Gallas Coulker BAE Lennon Parker Livermore Siggy Holby Defoe If no Lennon then maybe Dempsey? Would be a very different prospect playing them on their own turf without a proper winger to scare them back. Would need Walker and BAE to get forward. Coulker is a massive threat from corners, and we only really need one goal to secure the tie.
Lloris has already played in the Europa for us, SG. Panathinaikos is one that I can remember, but I think there might have been one or two more.
Sure. Except I don't want Rooney and wouldn't dream of giving away Bale. So just the few million, doesn't have to be that many.
NO to Rooney. I'd play Lloris because I can't see Inter putting four past him. Should we park the bus? Do we know how to? I think Andre will get his teeth into this match and do the right thing. Play Dembele a little deeper? Make it hard for them to get past us or go for all out attack? I'd choose Demps for this match and give Defoe as much support as possible. Defoe? Failing as usual as he has for two or three years now. It's ok scoring at the start of the campaign but useless if the goals dry up half way through. It was predicted back in the old 606 days that he'd fail and we should sell him and I totally agree.
Yes, all AVB's hard work in getting Defoe to be more aware of what's around him, that we saw earlier in the season, seemed to go out the window last night. It was back to the old Defoe. As you say, I think he's been out for a while and was over keen to get a goal.
I think that trying to stifle Inter would be completely the wrong way to go about things. If we go there and play our normal game, then it should take care of itself. They need to score at least three goals to put us out and if we even get one, then they need to score five. Defoe's scored 14 goals this season. Not sure how that's failure. The reason that he's stopped scoring is that he's been out injured. Prior to that he was temporarily paired with Adebayor, which really didn't seem to work. With Bale's new position I think we'll have to see how things work out with them playing up top together.
Totally agree, I saw nothing for us to concern ourselves with at all, we go about our business as usual and play freely away as we have done.
As disappointing as our result was...no respite for Inter fans! http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/271788
Yes, it was a tactical dive, apparently. AVB put his foot in it about that, didn't he? (Although I don't think the confidence in assuming the tie is as good as won already is misplaced)
2 wins in their last 6! If we can put the pressure on and score an away goal early on thursday, it's curtains.
