Lennon did something to his hamstring, which is a little worrying, especially as he had such a good game. Hopefully it just felt tight or something and it's nothing serious. He walked off, which is a good sign. Excellent performance for an hour and then we went into autopilot, which is understandable, if a little disappointing. Really could have put this one to bed completely tonight. We were so much better than them that it's quite hard to believe.
I knew what your point was, but these points always go down a different direction...so dont stress. Although do you remember back to when Bale made his debut and his first few games? he was superb attacking on the left, especially in the 3-3 game agaisnt fulham. Any guess as to who was upfront? Our mate Berba. So they briefly played in the same team!
I agree PNP. 3-0 is fantastic and I would have bitten your hand off for that before the match but 4 or 5 was there for the taking tonight.
Yeah I remember Boss. His goal when he headed it on and then ran in and tucked the ball nearly under the keeper. That's when I first thought hold on a minute we have quite a player here! That fluky overhead kick that they scored to make it 3-3 had me in a bad mood all evening!
Best performance ive ever seen from spurs. Everyone was immense, even Brad got a chance to shine. Just need one goal at their gaf n game over. Their fans are so ****ed off right now. my favourite comment was from one of them wishing his penis was in charge of the team, as it would do a better job! Few ppl saying Defoe was poor, I thought he was excellent. won more headers than Ade has in 3 games, chased, looked dangerous and was turning defenders which again ade doesnt do. If only he knew what the pass button did. Gutted for Lennon, hopefully he is ok. might not be a bad thing for Bale to miss the return.
Roo and YV - spot on. Great overall performance and Parker had a superb game. Really positive runs, driving us forward. No complaints at all as everyone played their part in beating Inter. yes, maybe a poor Inter but you can only beat what is in front of you. Holtby probably needs some more game time because he looked a bit off the pace and his touch not as bright as in his first coupe of games. But a special note to Willy G and Brad - top efforts from the senior players. And watching him recovering after that late run was Comedy Central.
Certainly one of the best games all year. Everyone played well, aside from Defoe, I'd say. And even Defoe looked good at the beginning. Gylfi was outstanding. Dembele and Parker were excellent. You do have to wonder how good this Inter side is--but we'll get a much better idea at the San Siro.
Few minutes before lennon went off, Avb asked him if he wanted to come off. Lennon says no. I'm thinking "what if he now gets injured". I jinxed it.....apologies.
I thought our performance to win 3-1 was a better performance than this one as they had a much much better team then. It's unfair to say Defoe was poor tonight. He could easily have scored but for a couple of good saves. Holtby looked a bit like Sandro in his early games. You can see the quality is there though it just takes time and the good thing is he is here early in a winning team so hopefully by next season he will be at the level we know he can get to.
OptaJoe ‏@OptaJoe 77 - Scott Parker has made more passes (77) and more tackles (6) than any other player on the pitch. Engine. EDIT: Is anyone ever going to fix this bloody double posting glitch? It's really getting on my nerves now.
Great stat WY. He was superb tonight. I'm sitting here thinking were we that good or are Inter really that **** nowadays! We haven't thrashed anyone at WHL for ages!
It really is annoying how financially important European competition is (and getting that money will help your domestic efforts no end) when so much of it is such crap. ****ing Inter Milan - they were awul! Again! The majority of European matches are not nearly as demanding as a mid-table EPL team. And I include the CL in that. And yet there's all this prestige and money and ability to sign better players just to play chumps like Inter Milan and give them a damn good tonking. Credit to the team, though. Parker MOM for me - just so good to see him slipping back into that team smoothly and even getting forward on the ball a bit more.
Don't know why we never get a Spurs pundit on ITV. They dragged Fowler out for every Liverpool/Spurs night and for some reason Strachan too. I quite liked having Strachan though because it was so random, shame we had to put up with Dickhead and the Nose tonight.
