I'd be up for seeing something like that.

I'd switch Holtby and Eriksen's positions though. Eriksen has more of a magical spark to him than Holtby and his strike rate is better too so I'd rather he be behind the number 9.

Careful SOS, HBIC has without intention complimented Redknapp!... But yes, we should be using that setup to stretch teams and also draw them out.

I always feel the best way to breakdown a team that sits deep is to draw them out, let them push up, trying to suffocate a team which is camped in their own half is at times counter productive.

We should be confident of winning the ball back in midfield and our own half as then you have more space to use when you win the ball.

I agree it's a good time to try new formations and tactics at home against teams that sit back. It's not just the crowd who look bored, the players seem to be having a hard time keeping up their intensity. Everyone could do with a change. While I don't want to lose this game, even the worst result we could get with a 4-4-1-1 (or anything else set up to do something other than suffocate), a loss, has some purpose in that it would tend to make AVB's 1 nil to the Tottenham games more justifiable. Well, to me, anyway.

Technically I've just been called a tactical genius, as that's pretty much how I set up a 442, 4411 or 4231 on Football Manager. I like a midfield that dictates the game, both in terms of passing and possession.

I'd love to see a 3-2-4-1 formation at one point.

    Something like:

    Lloris,
    Chiriches, Kaboul, Vertonghen
    Sandro, Paulinho
    Lennon, Holtby, Eriksen, Townsend
    Soldado

I've put Chiriches over Daws purely because the 3 at the back would need some pace and while Vertonghen isn't the fastest, he's got the skill to get the ball out from the back and both Kaboul and Chiriches can cover ground well. Though I suppose it could work out well with Daws too providing he was the centre, centre back.

Sandro sitting as an anchor man/ destroyer, Paulinho partnering but getting forward at times with Holtby dropping off and covering.

Lennon and Townsend out wide to get crosses in and run at full backs.

Holby and Eriken for the creativity.

    Soldado to bang 'em in.

Whenever I get the new FM, for the first month (even two actually) my social life is non-existent. You're actually lucky you don't play it!
