I thought we played into their hands too much today. Our passing through the midfield was bloody awful with far too many having an off day.

Credit to Fulham though they were by far the better team and deserved winners today....

Will never achieve anything (trophies) without consistency

Too many players who can look class one game and then awful the next.

5th will be a decent season but (as usual) this summer needs to see a lot of movement. Need 4-5 in and still lots of dross in and around the squad

The Werner miss was hilarious (competing with Harland?) and Richarlison should have done much better with the one at the end but we deserved nothing really from that game.

They need to reflect on that during the international break I think....

A few have definitely fallen away in the 2nd half of the season. Bissouma for one. Thought he was very poor today.

    yep.
Not only do we need to improve the squad over all, but there’s some regulars who have been below par on many occasions this season, which is far from ideal.

Kulusevski, Bissouma and Johnson in particular, I expected more from.

Much as I hate to scapegoat, since the entire midfield laid a whole basket of eggs, you do wonder how much Bissouma has been carried by those around him at times this season

Especially defensively, as you'd think Mickey Van would've bailed him out on at least one of his costly blunders

Been saying it for a while. That malaria thing has definitely had an impact I think. He's been responsible for a few fair number of conceded goals for me this season...

Poor old Radu had a difficult debut, getting no cover from those in front of him...

    this.
He’ll be well pissed of with that, when he’s been given the chance to prove himself.

One thing that does need to be said, if Maddison did pick up a knock in training in the week, we likely should have played it safe and started someone else in his role

...now there's an issue there given the like-for-like replacements are Lo Celso or (at a pinch) Donley, but on the other hand a flatter midfield three of Bentancur, Sarr and Bissouma certainly sounds like a sounder choice

I am not looking at our squad I am looking at a terrific performance from Fulham. They could have beaten anybody here today playing like that. Hats off to them.

On the plus side, as Brannigans closed the best part of twenty years ago, he definitely won't be going off on someone trying to sneak in a bottle of Lambrini under their coat tonight

He wasn’t great. Definitely not helped by the midfield but didn’t look great

I agree but our squad does need improving ... Richarlison, Werner, lo celso, skipp, Hoejberg all need improving on.
Fulham did a great job dealing with our midfielders and narrowed the pitch well, bit like wolves did a few weeks back

Squads always need improving but inconsistency is the by product of young players. World beaters one week and league 2 the next. You don't judge players on the back of a game like that, or the Villa one at the other end of the scale. Ange will build consistency over time and that will include tweaks to the squad. What we lack is a midfield enforcer (most teams do). MacKay, Viera, Keane this is the one type of player that can get you through games like that. Rice is making the difference at Arsenal. I thought Bisouma would be that man for us, but Malaria may have finished him (I hope not) We may need to try and find another.

I think Ange is very much biting his tongue with that interview. Not a happy chappy I think. You do get some stupid questions asked though...<laugh>

Agree with this. A midfield leader who can play a bit too could make a huge difference.

Better players are more consistent. Better players cost more money though. So the only way to get more consistent players is to have more money to spend. It will be a few seasons more until our squad is in the top three. There are no palatable shortcuts

100% with that. Midfield had always been a massive issue for me. Needs a big improvement in the summer....

Nobody in football will be surprised at this result, this is Tottenham, we`ve been doing things like this for decades. If we were clinical we would have taken the lead and then it`s a whole different game. Awful performance, Drag looked dodgy but we`ll let him off being his first game, Romero was probably the best of a bad bunch. It`s the beginning of another project though, so I suppose we`ll have to suck it up.
