Bring on anyone I say. No reason to fear anyone left in the draw. My only worry is a big European tie could distract the team from the Premier League.
That rendition was mental- I was in Park Lane and to see Shelf singing all the way along East side was fantastic. My MOTM was Toby- defending, distribution and vision are marvelous.
Just got back from the game myself. The lads barely put a foot wrong this evening. Made Fiorentina look very average over the two legs, despite not having our strongest eleven out in either game. The ref had an absolute mare just like the ref in the 1st leg. Great to have Mason back to his best. This was only my second game this season (had some membership card troubles), but it was my first seeing Alderweireld in the flesh and wow what a player. You see him do it week in, week out on tv, but seeing it in person is something else. The man is an absolute rock. He makes it look so easy and then goes and sprays a diagonal ball with pinpoint accuracy too, all whilst being cool as a cucumber. Wowee signing of the season easily.
I've been walking around lost since last Sunday.Felt like Compo after he found out Nora Batty had taken in a lodger! Feeling much, much better now!!!!
Love how Mason’s priorities after scoring are 1. Raise the badge. 2. Everything else, including remaining upright.
No one has mentioned Trippier, his hard fast and low crosses encourage own goals, was the final goal Rodreguez's 2nd or 3rd attempt at putting it in his own net from a Trippier cross? And as I have mentioned before, Mason is the closest thing England have to a Paul Scholes, a little bit more cultured but of the same ilk. Pretty lucky that ref doesn't do premiership matches, everyone would be on a yellow card within the first 10 minutes and there would never-ever be a penalty, not even at Klanfield, Old Toilet or Stanford Bog.
I feel asleep at 55 minutes =( My Dutch mate says his team, Feyenoord, sing "Oh when the Spurs" slowly after playing us a several years ago. Only they misheard it and sing "saints".
No one on shelf side had a clue what was happening on the pitch cos we were all singing and looking at park lane...the top tier were joining in too. My 13 yr old daughter thought it was brilliant.
We absolutely can, but only against sides who come for a game of football, not those who come for a camping holiday. Fiorentina are a good passing side who pressed forward regularly and showed a lot of imagination in possession. Some of their pass n move was sublime. Against the likes of lesser teams such as West Brom, Sunderland and Chelsea, we have nowhere near that amount of room to operate in and that's where Kane comes to the fore. His ability to hit the ball with tremendous force and accuracy with either foot and almost zero back lift is invaluable when you've been restricted to 3 shots on target all game. With him on the pitch, one of those shots will go in. Chadli is also a fantastic striker of the ball, but clearly prefers the chances when he can come inside from the wing where he has time and space to pick his spot to curl it into.
You guys are in dream heaven. Hope you get one of the two trophies you are still in the running for. PL would give you the status, EL widespread recognition and of course entry to the CL, which you may not need should you achieve a top 4 finish.
"Just as we await the start of the draw it's probably a good time to remind you that it's an open draw with no seeding or country restriction. So we could have all Premier League ties, including Manchester United v Liverpool!" -Sky Sports We're "including." Upgrade on Scotch mist.
The combination of goal threat, fancy tricks and attack dog combativeness...has me scratching my head for comparisons. I think Fiorentina decided they’d pay him back for that kick to the back, and only succeeded in making him find an extra gear. He must have six or seven assists this year and got clattered almost every time. His bravery alone would make me want to see him on the pitch. Mason, Erikson and Lamela were all superb, but Alli’s performance was one of the better ones I’ve seen.
Well, you have to beat the best to win it. Not disappointed as will be an intriguing test. I think us, Dortmund and Sevilla were the teams most wanted to avoid. Better than going out to nasty, negative team like Lazio.
