2-1 FT. Made a meal of it, but managed to get it over the line in the end.
Plenty of things to work on. Plenty of things to be happy about.
We'll need to up our game for the remainder of the group.

    That'll do :emoticon-0148-yes:
Any victory is good, but to have blooded all that young talent makes it doubly pleasing.
Maddison getting a bash on his head could be another bonus. Knock some sense into him!!<laugh>

It's the passing and the choices he makes.

Well, good enough. I was pleased the pickup 11 didn't look like 11 strangers the way they usually do. More like 11 casual acquaintances. Still progress.

The win and resting several of the PL starting XI are the important things tonight.

Haven't checked, but that surely has to be one of, if not youngest side we have ever started in a senior competition? :emoticon-0165-muscl<applause>

Scrappy win and I think we more than rode our luck as Vicario had to make a couple very good saves but 3 points is 3 points.

Moore impressive. Should’ve had an assist but that ****ing donut screwed it as he always does. If Son can’t play on the weekend and that rotter starts over Moore it’ll be a travesty.

Gray was superb, probably MoTM for me, playing out of position in two roles and he never looked out of place.

Bergvall struggled, don’t think he’s as ready for minutes as Gray (and Moore) yet but there’s definitely a talent there.

Average age was about 25. Moore, Gray, Bergvall and Lanksear all teenagers and Sarr's only just turned 22. Encouraging. <ok>

    Plus points
Moore and Lankshear , gray going forward but needs to tighten up in defence , Johnson 5/5 Bissouma and Sarr in parts
    The rest
    Bergvall iffy
    Awful Werner and Hoddles commentary

Job done, they had a few chances but we totally deserved the win . Great experience for Lankshear and Moore . Lankshear had two good opportunities to score and led the line well and Moore was excellent at times, he looks such an exciting talent.

Bissouma did ok and had a good second half .

Slightly disappointing display from Bergvahl, he tried to make things happen but lost possession on numerous occasions.
Vicario apart from that mad moment at the end was excellent with his feet and made a couple of top saves.

There’s three certainty’s in life, death, rising taxes and Werner messing up when he’s through on goal. Why does he not take the shot early ? Slot it past the keeper or dink it over him , always wants to round the keeper.

Thought Archie Gray was superb, motm for me, so composed on the ball , read the game well and has the ability to play the game at his own pace. He’s going to be a star for us.

Finally Brennan Johnson . 5 in a row and a superbly taken goal.

Tough game against Brighton 2 teams who play the high line and press. Going to be goals.

Fair assessment. Bergvall wasn't convincing and I'm sure his studs weren't right. Romero was also very iffy, particularly in a game when his experience is even more important. He still lacks defensive discipline, at one point late in, he followed his fwd out wide to a loose ball leaving the middle open and they nearly got a headed equaliser.

Can’t remember ever winning one of these silly 5:45 kos at a weaker team with a rotated squad, so scrappy or not I’ll take that.

That's the third one he's scored from point blank range off a deflection. I wouldn't want him shooting from anywhere else, but he seems to be very good at reaction shots from close range.

Two wins out two is a good start to the Europa league.

Gave up way too many chances which would have been buried by a better team. Gray and Porro did well but Romero and Davies being senior players were both disappointing. Vicario on the whole was very good tonight but needs to work on his distribution.

    Highlights:

We're currently 3rd in the table as one of 5 teams with 6 points. A long way to go but it's a good start.
Man Utd are 21st, four places below Rangers. Besiktas are bottom, rather surprisingly.

The only other time that Ferencvaros have lost at home to an English side was against Leeds in 1969.
It was the 2nd leg of a European Cup tie and the visitors won 3-0.
Eddie Gray started for them that day and his great-nephew Archie started for us today.
