New signings both been poor today. If this is anything to go by, it’s gonna be a long ****ing season, again.
Not a single positive that I can see from this match 14 players used not one of them has put in a shift for the shirt disgraceful in all honesty.
Has Jose set out to be poor so that Levy may loosen the purse strings. Such a poor starting eleven and worse substitutions
New CB has creeped back up into an absolute priority. Dier’s not the answer, he ain’t replacing Vertonghen whereas Toby is about a quarter of the player he was two years ago.
Hojbjerg's clearly not a holding midfielder, so we still don't have one. We're down one from last season even, as we sent Skipp out. The squad balance is ****e.
1-0 FT. First half was poor, second was absolute dog ****. Subbing off Alli at the break made very little sense and we went backwards from what was already a poor position. This is going to be a long, long season and I suspect it will be pretty boring, too.
Today was a Jose disasterclass I’m afraid. Poor selection, poor subs, poor game management and style. The only silver lining is that it should cause some worry amongst the board and hopefully push us to bring in one or two* more players because albeit just one game, the team just doesn’t look right and I don’t think Lo Celso makes the necessary difference. *a lot more than one or two.
Having the lowest point at the beginning of a new season is a clever strategy. But not a convincing one, dreadful performance reminds me of AVB without the flair.
I think he was poor today, but he was not alone, and with Winks showing all of DHs favourite traits alongside him made him virtually a 1 man midfield for most of the match.
He definitely makes a difference but not enough to get us where we need/ want to be mate. We need another Eriksen in this team, someone who’s going to grab those assists on a regular basis.
I wouldn't blame either of them. They need to be playing alongside a holding player to be most effective. Pairing them up and then randomly chucking on Sissoko somewhere made very little sense.
It's one thing playing boring football but we don't even play boring football well. It's the same stuff every game, sometimes one of our players finds the quality to get us a goal, other times the opposition are bad enough that we win anyway, the rest of the time we just have to see the **** football for what it is. So far all Jose's done is create a tactical plan that doesn't work and replace a couple of players with taller ones, this is why Jose's the last person I wanted to rebuild the squad. Rodriguez looks good. I remember when we signed a quality player that wasn't wanted at Real.
