Tbh you can understand why, someone above said Atkinson should not be allowed to ref again and they are right imho
That ‘decision’ has ruined this game and taken Son out for next 3 games
Terrible for Gomes but terrible decision.

Agreed.

Surely we’ll appeal it once we’ve checked the video. Terrible thing to happen to Gomez, but you can’t let emotions come into it as Twatkinson seems to have done.

It was not a red card offence.

This season. Is a ****ing write off.

I wish Gomes a speedy recovery.

That wasn't a red card and has cost us 3 points. Tell me if you have VAR why couldn't Atkinson ask to check to see if there was any malice and whether it was a red?

Seriously what is the point of VAR? To back referee's **** decisions?

Seems like Arsenal, Spurs and Man United are all trying to outdo each other to determine who's the ****test club at the moment.

What a dreadful season it's been.

About 10 years ago if Spurs had been on the same level of points as Man Utd I’d be ecstatic...

Ridiculous decisions for both sides and VAR reputation falls still further.
Son was fouled and if Twat had given it straight off then the decision would have stood.
Dele's hand was in an 'unnatural' position above his head. Accidental contact, but the same circs gave Pool their opener in the CL Final. Or maybe I'm only working on Handball 12.4.4 and the latest version is in the 13's.

I fear that even if Atkinson had gone and checked on the monitor he would have stubbornly backed himself
The man is an utter embarrassment to referees, the job is hard, i have done it at a low level and its hard and you make mistakes.
Atkinson, however, is just a very arrogant person who believes he knows better than everyone else.

Piffle. We were abysmal throughout. And were gifted a goal by the kind of mistake you of all people are usually so quick to dismiss as totally meaningless. Pickford had nothing to do all game.

Gazzaniga wasn't exactly super busy either. Everton weren't exactly peppering your goal with tons of shots.

In truth, it was a poor contest between two teams evidently low on confidence and quality.

Agreed. One of the worst referees I've ever seen. He's made an abundance of mistakes that he is never held accountable for.

Weird, very rare that opposing football fans, pundits and managers agree, and yet nearly everyone saying that Son not a red except for the FA
Weird that.
Sent of for endangering an opponent, Carragher has just said that every challenge becomes that and if we apply that then nearly all challenges are red.
Not gonna hear the end of this for a while, no one has said anything against Atkinson. :headbang:

Atkinson looks; oh that's a horrible injury I had better show red. A poor decision made for all the wrong reasons.
At the risk of creating a Narrative, the fact that Saltypool fans are petitioning for him to be sacked after yesterday's VAR snafu may have something to do with his overcompensating

Of course, one set of of fans are convinced he's pro-Spurs...
