3-0 FT. Very good display and Everton never really looked in it. The scoreline's actually quite flattering, especially as we strolled through the last half hour. Really need more of that, starting on Wednesday, hopefully.
Well, by the look of it he won't be jumping over any bars for the next few weeks, regardless of the height!!
A measured performance today from a fixture that usually causes us grief at this time of the season. Sissoko raises his performance bar to 3 feet high. We shall see whether he can jump that in his next start.
Should have been more clinical, I feel we switched off at 0-3 in the 46th minute. I said we'd win comfortably which sparked mild controversy. Somebody said it was the sort of remark which would anger somebody and an Everton supporter disagreed about the injuries when they have 5 top players out. I could only see a comfy Spurs win there and a comfy win at Wembley to break the hoodoo.
After all the hysteria over Everton's transfer business this summer, where are they? Basically they've got no striker and their most creative player wants out. The defence is so-so and I'd say they are less of a threat than last season......and they've got 2 years of looking at Rooney's ugly face.
Only saw just over half of the second half, but I thought Sanchez looked pretty composed considering it's his first ever PL appearance.
Agreed - although he will have sterner tests pretty much every week for the rest of the season. But he fitted in seamlessly between Toby and Jan.
Excellent display by Spurs. We were a class above at times. Everton were awful defensively and in attack have too many similar players all wanting to play centrally. Sanchez had a very comfortable debut and he strolled through the match. Ben Davies was superb at LWB and is under rated by many Spurs fans. Eriksen was sublime, Dele a bit too casual for me and Kane gave a superb CF display. As others have said Sissoko had a decent game, ok he missed a sitter but he gave us great athletism from CM and Everton couldnt cope with his runs. One upside is that it makes space for our other attackers if they are closing him down. A very satisfying win and thats 4 away wins on the spin now, stretching back from the tail end of last season. In those four games we have also scored a shed load of goals. Our away form is so important especially with the teehing problems at Wembley. Dortmund up next a massive game for us.
We are more in a 'Has Sissoko left it far too late for it to be anything other than Sissoko out ??' .
Dare I say Everton miss Barkley? Hasn't been that easy an away game against them for a while. Even Sissoko did better than usual.
Not a bad day when the worst thing you can say about the performance is that we should have scored more.
Pochettino said post-match that he was suffering from "cramps" . Difficult I guess to cover that many yards in one match when you've put in eff all effort on pitch in the preceding season + summer.
Lots of effort and 'runs', but achieved the square root of **** all: he was either caught offside, misplaced the vital pass or missed an open goal. For me, he's just not a very intelligent footballer and whilst I shouldn't be so overtly critical of one of our players, I just don't see that he adds any value. We have better options!
