Thanks for the information. I never seem able to find out anything reliable about Spurs' injuries. I see reports which turn out to be dead wrong at least half the time. Sandro's season ending knee injury at first was supposed to be not serious.

In any case, 12/5 isn't long away (though I'm sure it seems that way to you), assuming Bentaleb actually is ready then. I think with Kane in the lineup and Eriksen scoring along with Chadli, we're going to score some goals. Our woeful defense remains a problem, and it seems to me Bentaleb's absence has something to do with that.

Someone will probably beat them this year. Why not us away? It's likelier than us beating them at home, that's for sure. There's a first time for everything, including brain surgery.

...so, naturally, pics of Bentaleb training with the first team this afternoon surfaced!

You’re not bowled over by us taking 10 of 15 possible away points, I take it.

The status of injured players being a more or less complete mystery is certainly one of the PL’s charms.

Let me modify my post, a win against Everton might spark a non losing momentum.

It's also another example of Spurs having poor lines of communication with their fanbase.

Kaboul, Rose, Chadli, Capoue and Adebayor are all back in training, while Townsend's doubtful, apparently.
Naughton's still suspended, but Fazio's available after missing the Partizan game.

I'm not sure how I'd approach this.
Fazio should come back into the defence and Chiriches should move over to right-back and I think I'd stick with Soldado and Kane up front.
The midfield's a tricky one, though. I'd like to see Lennon on the right, but that makes the rest quite hard to balance.

    Mark Lawrenson's Prediction

Both of these sides have had Europa League ties this week, and they do not have a great record in their domestic matches to follow those fixtures this season.

Everton look in better shape, however, after stringing together a five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Tottenham, meanwhile, still look like a team that has just got together in pre-season and there is not much of a pattern to their play.

Spurs were fortunate to beat Hull last time out, in a game that turned when the Tigers went down to 10 men.

They have struggled at home under Mauricio Pochettino and, although I don't think they will lose again at White Hart Lane, I cannot see them winning either.

Lawro's prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Everton

Here's the website HBIC was referring to. God knows how they get their information - probably just a cobbling-together of tabloid noise mixed in with a bit of common sense and some guess-work. It's about as reliable as most football information out there, in other words:

The advantage we have is that Everton had to travel.

Chiriches Dier Vertonghen Davies (though I’m sure it will be Fazio instead of Dier)
Bentaleb Mason (Bentaleb is the only player who’s always been present when our "2" have played well)
    Lennon Eriksen Lamela
    Kane

Lennon on the right and Lamela on the left. In my dreams.

The truth is players who don’t play as real wingers switch sides as often as not. It was interesting watching the Lamela highlights to see he spent just about exactly half his time on the left. The only thing that made him a right sided player was that he tracked back on that side every time.

Cheers, Lenny. I’ve bookmarked it, so now I can be misinformed authoritatively.

The draw is the bet here for me. I reckon we owe you one for the mugging last season but we'll be missing some key players and had a tough away on Thursday. 1-1.

Man for man, I have to say, Everton look the stronger team (only exception is in goal).

If we could only show the commitment and desire that Sunderland showed yesterday.

So we managed to turn it around against Hull and Villa when they went down to 10 men and the consensus was that the sending off changed the game.

Man City go down to 10 men and go on to score two more goals.
