Harsh but true indeed and what's also worrying is Townsend could be undroppable under Avb, even when his purple patch dies, or is it already dead?

King of the dribblers but one goal and one assist in the league, is he really much better then Lennon who is a better team player.

Yeah, sorry about the 20x comment. Others seem to have had the same problem with the multiple posts...

It occurs to me that one reason we looked so toothless and scored none was that AVB seemed very happy to have a goalless draw at Everton, and at least arguably, rightly so given our record there.

Well at the moment it's not been either/or with Lennon and Townsend. I really like the combination of how Townsend works down the right with Walker and Lennon is best on the right too so it's a fair point but I think the left flank is a bigger problem to sort out. Chadli's injured and unproven, Sigurdsson is a threat when he's attacking but doesn't seem to create any chances for others, Lennon doesn't look quite comfortable there, Townsend has been impressing on the right and **** knows where Lamela's going to fit in but he shouldn't be under consideration for anything more than cup games and the odd sub appearance.

Not easy, who'd be a manager, eh?

Believe it not YV, but i started to feel a tad sympathetic for AVB, not greatly, only a tad as its certainty not an easy job and you can gather from his interviews, the way he reacts to the lack of atmosphere and his recent comments, that he isn't happy about the overall football and I believe hes wants us to play a more exciting game.

To be a manager and have everyone question your decisions, even interviewers these days are saying "why didn't you change the system" everyone's an armchair manager or critic and like I say, only a tad sympathetic as you can't start to feel too much sympathy for people that are in such a fortunate position!

As for Townsend, has he been tried on the left? can't remember if he has ever played on the left in the 1st team in the league, only time I remember was in the europa league this season when he set-up soldado from the left wing? or did he just switch there?

Lennon is either in the team from right wing, or the bench, for me anyway, as he just doesn't offer enough from the left!

It was either a chelsea or arsenal forum, they have a section called "the intelligent forum" :headbang:

    Here found it

    http://forums.cfcnet.co.uk/index.php/forum/65-the-intelligent-forum/

maybe that's where our posts have gone <whistle> the hidden not606 intelligent section, so smart no one can find it!

Yeah, if I thought AVB genuinly wanted us to play like this long term I'd want him out.

I forgot to mention though, I'd like to see us try option z) Holtby on the left :D

I know what you mean. And when it takes you half an hour to post a comment, it's bloody frustrating.

I'm not that old (probably average age amongst the posters here - the old duffers like Spurf make me feel young <laugh>) but I hate computers when they keep crashing or get viruses (it is nearly winter though) and what's with this QWERTY keyboard - what's wrong with the alphabet?

Lennon on the left, Townsend on the right looks like a team with a tremendous potential for scoreless draws. They keep the fullbacks worried without worrying the keeper. I wonder if Townsend could train with pictures of keepers in the corners of the goal, since he always seems to shoot straight at them.

Holtby on the left, Eriksen in the center is worth a try, if you ask me--or vice versa. Videos of them show both look comfortable cutting in from the left.
