It's a bit like driving a new BMW in London as opposed to an old Ford. The BM gets you there with more style and comfort but the old Ford still gets you there and you don't have to worry when you park it.
So Gallas is pretty much a certainty then alongside Caulker? I assume Sandro will play and Naughton at left back?
Vertonghen will almost certainly play left back. If Gallas starts tonight then maybe Naughton will play but it's unlikely unless we get another defensive injury, which would leave us with just 4 fit defenders.
If Naughton plays left-back, then Vertonghen would partner either Gallas or Caulker, with the latter being more probable. I think that you might see the Belgian at left-back, though. Possible line-up: Lloris; Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen; Lennon, Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey; Defoe, Adebayor.
Ah, I forgot about Vertonghen haha, battle of the Belgians on Saturday then? Vertonghen, Dembele, Fellaini and if fit Mirallas.
Hadn't thought of it like that. We need to start stocking up on all the Belgians we can over the next transfer windows before Chelsea start buying them all.
Dembele vs Fellaini is going to be an awesome battle. Two of the leagues best midfielders, of the same nationality, who can dominate games in different styles going head-to-head to see who's the top Belgian! Come on Mousa!!!
Just saw this on Sky Sports Opta stats: If Premier League games had ended at 80 minutes this season, Spurs would be top. Definately something we need to look at.
Gonna be a tough match tomorrow - been really impressed with Everton so far. It's annoying that Bale is out as Phil Neville is also out - he's kept Bale quiet in most of the previous meetings (usually by hard tackling but that's beside the point). I'd take a point right now given our injuries - but it's definitely one that could go either way.
With the Goons and the Chavs winning (the goons by cheating) it is vital we get some result tomorrow. A win would be unbelievable but a draw would still keep a 3 point gap and we do have some "easier" fixtures to come. Although with us no fixture is easy!
