Forget I said anything. In fact he's the next James McFadden.

Hey, we'll sell you Pienaar back for about twice what we paid for him in return.
    Can't say fairer than that!

I always look at the score from the earlier match in the season and try to judge from it. We beat Everton 2-0 at WHL so I'd probably go on the strength of that for a draw.If I had to pick a winner I'd go for Spurs by one goal. Even though we lost to Utd there was still some good play from us and if we can get a lead it will settle us at Everton. If anybody can stop their unbeaten run it's us.

I don't know what team Harry will pick, but as long it doesn't Niko or Gio, that'll be a step in the right direction

A front 6 of Bale Parker Ade Modric Livermore and one from VDV/Saha/JD would do me. But if we sacrificed Jake and played anther attacking player, I'd be happy with that too.

I think Drenthe went to a club like Madrid too quickly, he was never going to be first choice and at his age to get better, he needs to be playing, not a squad member. Always causes problems and comfortable on both wings, a good player to have. Lennon's absence to injury is costing us, when he doesn't play, our favoured way of play becomes lopsided and predictable...i.e. all Bale!, so we do need another winger imo

The BBC preview of the game is up to their usual standards of bullshit lately...

Is it so hard to preview the ****ing match, rather than spend the majority of the article speculating that both managers will be elsewhere this summer?

Starting to consider organising a mass complaint from Not606 members to the BBC about their website's coverage of Spurs lately...

Harry says that Saha wants to play in spite of the agreement between the two clubs.
My guess is that he will name him on the bench and play Ade up front with Rafa just in behind.

That sounds logical - he'll be in the squad so the FA don't suspect anything untoward, but won't be brought on as a sub.

Just to be safe, it's not too late to teach Defoe the offside rule, is it?

We've returned to the problem of a few weeks ago where it's painfully obvious we have no current cover for Lennon.

Perhaps we should return to the free-roaming formation for Bale, VdV and Modric (sort of a 4-2-3-1) with Livermore/Sandro and Parker helping the defence and Ade up front on his own.

The 4-4-1-1 is our ideal formation when everyone's fit but it doesn't work so well when we lose a winger.

Which is why I'm perpetually baffled that Danny Rose isn't drafted in as a like-for-like replacement.

I agree with you Croydon. Harry really must not rate Rose as a right winger because he looks a like for like replacement for Lennon. Surely this would help us keep our shape better which has been lacking when we put kranjcar or van de vaart out on the right. It also leaves walker exposed. Rose could drop back into right back easily to cover when he bombs forward.

Isn't Rose left-footed though - would reduce his effectiveness on the right perhaps.

The better bet for a replacement is Andros Townsend...who's out on loan.

    Good work.

That's true although he could cut in and hit a few shots. Or stick bale on the right maybe? I suppose the problem here is that someone like Neville with his experience would just keep him on the outside all the time and not let him cut in.
Townsend would be ideal. The problem we have is like the historic England one where we try and fit our best players into the team and not the best players at their position.
