Dier and Dembele are back in full training but won't be risked for the trip. I suspect we'll see both at the weekend. Rose is apparently 'close' to a return, but in Spurs parlance that can mean anything up to a year <laugh>

Good news about Kane too. I was worried he'd be out for over 2 months but now apparently looking closer to one month.

Apparently CSKA are a very defence minded team only having scored 10 goals all season. Won't be easy.

Well, we're going with practically half a squad so this should be fun <laugh>. We'll have a few days to prepare for City so I can't see Poch making an abundance of changes from the side that faced Boro if I'm honest.

    Hugo
    Tripps, Toby, Jan, Davies
    Wanyama, Eriksen
    Lamela, Alli, Son
    Janssen

Vorm, Walker, CCV, Kev, Winks, Onomah, GKN

Give Walker the day off as he'll be up against it with Sterling on Sunday, I'd personally be tempted to maybe rest one of Son or Alli by putting Winks alongside Wanyama and pushing Eriksen up but I think Poch will go as strong as he can in the midfield areas.

We've got enough to beat them but the unknown factor plus the fact CSKA are the home side would somewhat make them favourites I reckon.

    COYS!

I'll move my couch a bit forward tonight then, leave me ample space behind it.

Swap Walker for Trippier and the total number of PL starts for Spurs by players on the bench is......

    25

Taking out the goalkeeper, it's Seventeen, Sss...Sss...Sss...Seventeen.

For a Group Stage CL tie, that bench has to be a record low number?

After round 1 don't we really need to win this? I don't understand going with a depleted team even with City on sunday.

Lads I might sound a bit negative but I'm not. I'm Spursy through and through.

10 goals in 8 games. The kind of team that usually comes to the Lane and the keeper has a blinder.

Then tonight may well be Pochettinos' version of Arry away against AC Milan.

I agree. I'd be tempted to start Harry Winks rather than ask a non-specialist to adapt. One or two such youngsters would be a little less concerning.

According to Lawro we will get beaten because Kane isn't there. OK not much point in watching then obviously Son can't score for toffee and we have no one else to score goals.

FFS That wasn't even an interesting comment what a PP he is.
