1. They put it into today's points for a like for like comparison. 2. But it was still 11 wins not 10 ... so yep...they were wrong!
Noticed Maddison giving the 4th ref a real roasting over the handball. Even Ayew seemed to give himself up. Ange was asked about it, response - don't ask me i haven't a clue what handball is anymore.
How ? If I remember correctly it was 2 points for a win in those days , maybe BBC forget that football existed before the premiership
I was not annoyed by the palace goal as it was well taken but VAR f**ked up again ,after controlling the ball on his chest it clearly struck his arm other wise it would not been there to strike
VAR over-complicated it (deliberately?) - there was the one angle -:side on - that clearly showed the ball deviate as it hit the arm and then Ayew instinctively moved his arm back. None of the other angles showed anything, yet they persisted showing those.
The childish bitterness at this stage of the season is unreal. You only have to look at the comment count on the BBC match report for this game to know it. The only thing of any note is that come match week 15, Spurs will have played two more away games than home.
Ayew committed 8 fouls, 3 of which could have been a yellow card, BEFORE he was finally booked. If the ref had been half decent, then VAR wouldn't have been required to make a complete twat of himself!
Ange is proving that a good manager can make a significant difference. And his influence is proving how much the mindset and attitude of the players matters. Ange has very quickly got the best out of most of them. The overall performances of Spurs have improved, but you’re not ripping up trees (yet). There have been spells of very good play, but the most important traits shown so far have been the resilience when under pressure and the desire not to beaten, even when the odds are against you (Sheff Utd being the obvious example). Those are the two traits winning teams tend to have and bode very well for Spurs if they can be maintained over an entire season, irrespective of variables such as form, injuries, bad decisions etc.
Agreed! But one thing that is concerning from yesterday’s match is that we only had one shot on target. We seriously need to work this because one shot on target isn’t going to win us many matches, even with the correct mindset!
Compare our game with Palace and Wolves with Newcastle.Ours sideways backwards while Wolves and Newcastle went end to end.
That’s because of the tactics of palace. They weren’t pressing us and let us have the ball. Even when they were 2-0 down! Why would you bother trying to take risks when you can just take the 2-0 win. It’s absolutely fair enough for us to do that.
Exactly. I had no problem with us allowing them to run THEIR clock down. We were pretty much able to do that all game, but it became ridiculous in the last 10-15 minutes. I actually thought we had handled the game quite well in the latter stages, although Emerson lost the ball far too often for my liking which caused us some problems. Ironically, it might well have been better to start with him at LWB and then brought Ben on later to sure up things.
