Which is why you should be happier than us 'kids' who don't remember the 60/61 season.
Put that next to the clock.

And I’m 80, kid, but I disagree with you on this. I don’t need material proof on the sideboard that the team I support are good. For me, the main pleasure is in watching them play with a bit of style and imagination. One cross field pass from Hoddle to Galvin, for example, was worth the gate money in my book. One superbly timed tackle from Graham Roberts likewise. I want Spurs to win every match, and all four competitions they’re in these days. But I don’t get grumpy fits when we fall short. I just think about the next match and any changes that need to be made. In the end, football is part of the entertainment industry. It’s a spectator sport. So I want to be entertained above all else. Winning is fine, but I’d hate to be a supporter of a team managed by a park-the-bus devotee. Sorry, Smithy, but I thought you deserved a full explanation of how I differ on this issue.

If you go by the idea that winning silverware is everything, the 2 most successful Spurs managers in the last 25 years are Juande Ramos and 'The Bloke in the Coat'. If you need anything to prove that trophies can mean **** all, that does it for me.

Must admit I’d love to see us win a few more trophies (or just a trophy would be a start! Lol). Not that at the expense of top four as I’m fully aware that despite not getting a trophy for that, it’s what’s essential for us to progress and become a solidified “big club” with the finances and platform the CL provides but I can’t deny I’m desperate for silverware as well. I’m 29, so I’ve only seen us lift one trophy live (our most recent league cup win) and that was amazing to experience, whilst I was only about 9 when we won the other league cup and just 1 or 2 when we last won the FA Cup which naturally I have no recollection of at that age. Can’t deny I’m hugely envious of those of you lucky enough to have experienced the Bill Nich or Burkinshaw eras.

Look here dad! I've got my Spurs stuff in bookcases,in cupboards,in the garage and hanging in my bedroom. If you'd seen my basement in my old house a couple of years ago ,you may have thought it was a football museum. Now and then I take a look back and think...."blimey! We used to win things.....a long, long, time ago in a galaxy far,far away!"

Hell,I'll get grumpy fits if they play awful but my days of white tinted glasses are gone. want them performing well every game so that fans haven't spent most of their money on a wasted cause.
