Young Dele certainly has an edge to him, he's the type to leave it in on another player every now and then. There's not a lot wrong with that (until he properly crocks someone, which I hope he never does), I just hope he can keep in in check throughout his career and channel the aggression more or less productively, without some of the outbursts we've seen from the likes of Rooney over the years. Luckily although Alli has a bit of an edge and can be wound up by the opposition in my view, he's not an outright twat like, say, Charlie Adam. And he's still so young that he has plenty of time to mature a bit and control it better, without losing it of course because I think its an important part of him on the pitch. Luckily that slight nastiness and immaturity seems to confine itself to his on-pitch personality as far as I can tell, which gives me hope he will mature on pitch as well.
Good to hear, if true. No way is he worth £14m, even with the VAT for having been born the right side of Wrexham , as well as the surcharge applied for having once worn an England shirt (known as the 'Andy Carroll Toll'). I'm taking this article with a bucket-full of salt, but the line that intrigues me is: "But with MP keen to free up space in his squad" ...for whom? Ah! I can't stand these will we/won't we games every window!
Don't know if anyone watches ESPN Press Pass, but in their latest edition they were discussing whether Spurs had the credentials to challenge for the title. Steve Nichol (fervent mouser) and Shaka Hislop said that although we were the league's form team we don't have the bottle or backbone to sustain it but Leicester did because they are currently top! Gab Marcotti - journo said why not Spurs, form is everything and it certainly is not impossible (suspect he is a closet Tottenham fan).
Have you quoted the right post there - cause the "No way is he worth £14m, even with the VAT for having been born the right side of Wrexham" is a bit strange if we're discussing Alli? Although he isn't worth £14m, he's worth £40m now!
Bollocks You're like my personal post police , you know that? Just f*ck off! I of course intended to quote the one about Townsend. And, upon closer inspection, it would appear that I am on entirely the wrong thread. I'll just get my coat and be on my way. As you were, gents.
Finally some info on Vertongen's injury http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...-if-the-belgian-s-out-long-term-a3164101.html
The 'Mod abuser' gets abused, eh? How poetically ironic. I guess that makes me the forum equivalent of Rolf Harris
He did and it looked like he half meant it. He slowed his pace considerably prior to impact which was quite minor and unlikely to cause injury. It was silly in the Beckham v Simeone retaliation incident, not intended to injure but a bit petulant and likely to be punished, Cabaye is a nasty little ****. He is very happy to dish out career ending tackles but will roll around and feign injury very readily for no reason. Dele will learn. Cabaye never will.
No more draws against anyone below us in the table this season! If we lose half of the games we enter tied in the second half and won the other half, we're 50% up on points on continuing to draw loads of games. Barring burn out, I back us to do better than 50/50 in terms of wins based on the Palace game. If we draw against Citeh or the Gooners, so be it. We won't lose a 6 pointer which would be highly damaging. Everything else we should bring on the cavalry like Saturday and 'go for it',
Really hope the crutches are more for precautionary reasons than anything else. Would be a huge blow if we lost Jan for a couple months/ rest of season, would also make a CB in this window a priority too as it'd leave only Toby and Wimmer (plus Dier) as recognised first team CB's - I'm not including Fazio, he doesn't count, you have to be able to actually defend if you want to be a CB.
3 degrees of Sprain: A first degree sprain is damage to only a few ligament fibres. (3 weeks recovery) A second degree sprain is damage to a more extensive number of ligament fibres, but the ligament remains intact. (6-8 weeks recovery) A third degree sprain is a complete rupture of the ligament. Because of the force involved in this injury other structures in the knee, such as the Meniscus (Cartilage) or the Anterior Cruciate Ligament can also be damaged. (Surgery needed ****ed for this season)
The club confirm that Vertonghen has medial ligament damage. Expected to be out at least two months. Not good news!
Not good! Be interesting to see if Wimmer takes his place, or maybe Dier back to his original position? In other news, Newcastle agree £12mill fee for Townsend, according to SSN.
