With another £140m pound spend , they could be alot better-with that money one can buy Fabregas, Hazard, Costa, Benzema, Falcao and Di Maria BUT would any of those players join them???
Here lies the biggest problem about spending lots of dosh- if you can't offer CL they won't come. Man City struggled to attract players until they started winning a CL place and premier titles.

"Man City struggled to attract players until they started winning a CL place and premier titles."

Methinks the wages helped a bit.
Tevez and (surprise surprise) Adebayor went there well before the above, did they not.

When you type "spuds", do you type that with a serious face? Or maybe a smirk, while thinking "ohh I've done them here, they're gonna be well and truly pissed that I've called them a potato!"? I can never quite understand how a grown man (or woman?) can sit there and call others a spud... It's just... Oh I dunno, just weird.

And the irony of calling Tottenham fans gobby twats is truly brilliant, clearly you don't mix with any of your own fans then.

As for Harry, haven't you seen the picture floating around on the net? He already has played for "the club he supports" in their youth setup but realised deep down they were ****ers and saw the light, joining the blue and white side of North London.

That's part of what I meant to be honest, Blue. With a £140m, West Ham would still struggle to find any genuine talent that would massively improve them as they have very little pulling power. Even if they did manage to sign a few higher profile names, the players would only be using the bubble blowers as a stepping stone anyway and sod off within a year or two.

I quite like the term "spuds". It's not meant to be offensive I don't think. Same as I dont mind people calling us the "Spammers"

"Wet Spam" on the other hand is ****ing cringey.

I don’t like the dull ones, which to me includes Spuds. Spursday is good, though. My favorite is probably Ar5enal.

Lots of very accepting opinions on here. You know, stuff like 'we didn't play well so we deserved to lose'. Well (1) there wasn't much difference between the two teams so a draw would have been much more fair and (2) when the ref contributes to the outcome, the outcome is never 'deserved'.

It's a sad fact of the game that officials can win or lose matches due to ineptness but we should still have been good enough to have beaten Palace without incompetence from officials. I never use that as an excuse because finding excuses just makes us look like whiners, I just take it and move on. But what are the consequences of not being good enough to beat Burnley and Palace? Do we panic buy because without Kane just where are we? I hope that we get straight back to winning ways because a bad run now would be fatal.

I understand your point and we should be better - but it is this desire to not appear to be whinging (together with reliance on untrue statements like 'inconsistent' refereeing hits all teams equally, and that all errors even themselves out) which allow the current cosy status quo between the authorities and the media to carry on. In other words, while most clubs / supporters keep quiet, other clubs can carry on benefiting from this ludicrous situation - glossed over by the media who continue to maintain that such errors are not decisive over a whole season. Which clearly they are!

And on that note, where the hell did Taylor get six minutes from in our game?
I'd have been fuming if I was a Palace fan.

Yep, Lloris was treated for a while. Plus there was a little fracas with Campbell/Lloris/Fazio that had to be dealt with.
I thought 6 was fair. We were never gonna score so the Palace fans should just have been happy at the extra celebration time

It's a bit of a dilemma. You don't want to be constantly whining about this and that after a loss as a fan, and you really don't want to whine as a coach or player, because it's a distraction. On the other hand, pretending the PL officiating is acceptable isn't any good either. In this case I feel fine pointing out the officials have given us the wrong result three of our last four games, with one going our way that shouldn't have. Crystal Palace deserve credit for outworking us, in any case.

In a lot of cases,a lot of bottom clubs have knicked a win off us and eventually sent them spiraling into the second division over the years,so don't count your chickens!

3 second half goals, one of which being a penalty which was argued over, I think there were 6 different stoppages for subs(might be wrong), there was a few bookings and there was at least one stoppage for an injury that I remember.

Anyway, it wasn't decided by Taylor, which is perhaps why I assumed it was done competently :D The United second half had one goal, some subs and little else.
