He needs to prove he's not a one-trick pony - and nothing I've seen for the past 5 or 6 months suggests he is. Having said that....he must be given at least a full season and summer break to establish himself.
This second half is massive for Ange IMO. Another 45 like that going into Liverpool away is going to leave a lot of fans very very unhappy. I want to give him time and I am still in the in camp, but as more and more games go by with performances like this, I am seriously beginning to question him.
We lack genuinely quality players. Go through the team. To a man, you have purple patch players left right and centre. Kane wasn't just immensely talented, he was a machine, maintaining a ridiculous standard across dozens of games. We miss that so badly. The answer isn't Son. Love him to bits but he isn't fit to lace Kane's boots, such is the gulf between them. New manager won't change this. We'll get the same honeymoon bounce we got under Jose and again under Conte and again under Ange and then it'll come home to roost and we'll realise that our current players just aren't good enough. We need to be ruthless and ambitious in the market.
Yeah 100%, absolutely has to be here over the summer and some, I definitely think better players can alleviate/ improve things but a bad start to next season and he won’t see Christmas as Spurs manager.
That’s my fear. Ending the season in a serious rut and then a bad start and a 2 pts from 8 games situation will see a change. I hope Ange proves me wrong but seeing him up close at Celtic, he didn’t change his approach, the players got used to it and things clicked that way. With Spurs he will have to do something different as unlike Celtic, Spurs don’t have the best players in the league.
First 2 mins shows that the problem in attack is hardly down to the manager is it. Oh what joy it must be to be a PL player in most squads, picking up obscene amounts of money per week in the full knowledge that unlike in other professions sh*te performance does not mean you are soon out the door.
It doesn’t make a difference to be honest, I’ve long said our best finisher should be the central forward because we’re not creating enough as it is, so the player most capable of actually scoring a half chance should be in the prime scoring position and that’s Son.
The U21s just came back from 3-0 down at half-time to win 4-3 with goals in the 91st and 96th minutes. That's nice. Van de Ven in the book. Another one of our wonderful set-pieces goes to ****.
