Chelsea as a club have been very vocal about antisemitism for about a decade now. Abramovich has become progressively closer to Israel in that time and his influence is clear. There's still a massive streak of it though and certain sections of the fanbase are riddled with it.
That’s fair. The timing and context isn’t great though. Often the Graun will put a small editor’s note-style paragraph at the top giving some context, especially if the article was written a little while before publishing, and they didn’t even do that.
