<Tin hat> 'We will beat them comfortably' <Run for cover> Not sure if I want the Spam to do us a favour our not, it's a bit like choosing from eating a plate of your own sh!t or drinking a gallon of your own luke warm p!ss.
England tried several variations on that setup over the years, with Beckham only there to take set pieces and Rooney only there to take penalties. It didn't work out.
He's a pretty decent player all round. He'll have no problem getting a move to a better team in the summer. Shame he comes across as a bit of a twat, really.
Too right it's a shame him being a twat. With him taking our corners we'd score about 20 more goals a season. He's too slow that's his problem, perhaps the Spurs training staff might get him a bit fitter. With a turn of pace he would be brilliant. With Sissoko's pace he'd be a world beater. EDIT: after saying that watch it all go Spursey against Stoke and Shaqiri scoring a hatrick.
Weirdly I don't recall seeing a single transfer rumour about him in recent months, and you'd think there's be plenty of teams in the Premier League who'd be considering a bid this summer - Swansea and West Scam are two that spring to mind (thank you very much Palace and Southampton for going a long way to make the latter a possibility for next season...)
I don't think he's slow, it's just that he's short and has that weird stocky shuffling run, like our DOF. His fitness and discipline are both pretty questionable, though. If he could apply himself properly and sort his head out, then he'd be a decent squad player for a top side or a star player for a mid-table one.
Spurssey! That term reminds me of Newcastle 5 Spurs 1. That still gives me nightmares.....and made someone buy Sissoko..........God bless him!
Logic would dictate a move to either Serie A or the Bundesliga. Schalke would certainly be keen, given they're losing Goretzka (and potentially Meyer) for nothing this summer and would probably like to have some players on the pitch next season...
Money might mean that he remains in the Premier League, though. Plenty of sides with a lack of creativity that might overlook his issues. He's definitely got enough talent and it's in short supply at the moment.
Yeah, reading Dennis Wise's ****ehousery from last week is a lot funnier now... https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...ier-league-table-may-say-claims-a3801911.html
There is no question that Roman has tightened the purse strings over the past few seasons. The Manc clubs now blow Chelsea out of the water in terms of net spend. Had it not been for the ludicrous windfall from Oscar's move to his 'boyhood club' in China, their spending last summer would've been curtailed even further. I have no doubt that the spiralling costs of the stadium are weighing on his impatient Russian mind. The fact that a 4-5 year estimate has been projected must keep him up at night. So many ****tards are running around London with important jobs give it 2 years and that billion could well have increased by 30-40%. Talk amongst chelsea fans (those who can do more than point and grunt) suggests that there will be a pretty major clear out this summer of big name players. Courtois, Luiz (again), Cahill, Pedro, Fabricarse and Moses are all being mentioned. As is Hazard. Although unsurprisingly most of the big clubs have shown very little interest in him. Nowhere near as good as the media in this country make him out to be.
To misquote Elvis 'Wise man say, April fools rush in, but we can't help losing to Spurs again' Audrey, you have more time than me after your opp, perhaps you'd like to finish it?
Compliance with the UEFA FFP for starters. "The Manc clubs now blow Chelsea out of the water in terms of net spend." The Empire still has the funds, and the other Sugga Daddy FC has an even deeper well of oil money than he now has. "I have no doubt that the spiralling costs of the stadium are weighing on his impatient Russian mind. The fact that a 4-5 year estimate has been projected must keep him up at night. So many ****tards are running around London with important jobs give it 2 years and that billion could well have increased by 30-40%" Potential funders must be looking with some unease at current UK/Russia relations, and AFAIK there are govt plans in motion to put the oligarskys in the UK under more extreme financial scrutiny. All of which IMHO adds up to the end of the biannual Chelsky 'get new manager/players to win the PL' "business model" . But no problem for their supporters though. If they slide back into Ken Bates era meh, they can always sustain themselves on some "at least we won this and that N years ago" banter.
I don’t usually work on commissions....... but for you, dd, I might make an exception. Watch this space!
