Are we sure that he didn't have this statement prepared in anticipation of the usual matches we have with Burnley?

Tarkowski and Westwood's bans will now apply against Wolves. Great...

    The whole thing stinks.

Won’t happen but Spurs should have been given 3 points.

It won't happen but Burnley and the officials certainly have a case to answer. I wonder however if it will ever happen though, since none of the Sky favourites were involved. However I believe all PL teams must have undersoil heating, so I wonder if Burnley's was either not working at all, or they failed to switch it on until too late. We need to know, and the people that travelled all the way there for such a late postponment have the greatest case for explanation. I remember PL games being postponed because the surrounding streets were unsafe due to ice etc, but because the pitch was unsound? I will defer to someone with more inimiate knowledge of what those undersoil heating systems are supposed to be able to do, but it does seem very strange that the pitch got so covered.

The undersoil hearing had been on since Wednesday.
As explained earlier, a lot of snow fell very quickly. Within 10 minutes of staff clearing the pitch, it was covered again. And it would obviously impossible to keep the surrounding areas clear too. So the ref called it off for safety reasons with the agreement of both managers.

I think it is good for us tbh.
We played understrength Everton and Leeds teams and struggle for long stretches so can't see why today would be any different.
It gives us some additional rest during a busy time and gives Conte and his team more time to work with the players.

Leicester and City managed to host games though. Was the weather that much worse in Burnley than Manchester or East Midlands?

Amazingly, it's not because their fixtures were on Skyte or BT...

City had problems too, but their ground is nowhere near as high up as Burnley. There was very heavy snow from around midday - so heavy that they couldn’t clear it away quickly enough.

Yeah I know it can get bad quick, but I still feel annoyed it was called off and especially feel sorry for the fans who travelled all that way to find out less than an hour before kick off.

Was the Burnley area really that much worse than Manchester?

I mean Manchester did inflict both The Smiths and Oasis on the world, so that automatically makes it worse than Burnley...
