Referees should not be used as an excuse because good play would defeat any biased or incompetent refereeing. We were just not good enough and a title aspiring team should have beaten Burnley. I don't think that this defeat is a total disaster for us because we often lose after a break so no break in tradition there but a win against Chelsea will put the pressure back on the top 2. I will repeat, bench Kane because Jamie Redknapp also noticed the trend that Kane back and we lost.
And the day we take any notice of anything Jamie 'Levy sacked my Dad' Redknapp says is the day we should all give up watching football
Couldn't agree more wtf has Jamie bellend got to do with anything.kane is a world class player and the twat should keep his mouth shut
We lost because Dyche outsmarted Poch, plain and simple. We expected them to play like they did at Wembley but frankly we should have known better especially with so long to prepare for the game after Dortmund. We set up to dominate possession and break down a team who dug in, they came flying out of the traps and took us by surprise, and we never seemed to react well enough. Kane has been singled out by one or two but everyone looked off the pace, not just him. That said, teams win the league by taking points from games when they're not playing well. While a certain amount of grit - which we have definitely shown this season, but the way - is needed for this, getting those calls in your favour certainly help. Liverpool have had a number of 'marginal' ones (I'm being kind) this season over a few games where they've rescued a point or three from games that they should have been losing or drawing and I don't think you can pick out a title winning side over the years, even last year's City runaways, who haven't had a bit of luck in that regard once or twice in their season at key moments. As poor as we were yesterday, if the refereeing was 100% accurate I don't think we lose. And Dean's alleged comments after the match certainly put the refereeing in the spotlight more in this case, and not in a good way. I'm not asking for favourable refereeing, just accurate and honest officials. They should release the transcript from the ref's mike or better, broadcast the feed (like Rugby), but that's another debate. Poch has been criticised for his tactics and team selections in the past and while he's got better at setting the team up and making tactical changes and substitutions over his time with us he's still a long way from perfect, and for him to mess Saturday up is a black mark on his record considering the time he had to prepare for the game. Every game is key from now on and the players no longer have the excuse that they are rusty or tired, and nearly everyone is fit. I expect a reaction to the deficiencies of both the players and the managers over the coming weeks. TLDR: we were poor but the ref made things worse, Kane was rusty but so was everyone, let's smash Chelsea, COYS
One thing this result has shown is different fans' reactions to various media Narratives One poster on r/coys regurgitated the standard Narrative and not only got downvoted to oblivion but had a couple of users give them both barrels for talking ****e - but this same user copy/pasted the exact same comment on r/soccer and not only got a ton of upvotes but a bunch of non-Spurs fans chiming in with wholehearted agreement...doubling the number of downvotes on r/coys for his being a pandering twat whoring his backside out for karma
I only use r/soccer for goal clips, since the subreddit is polluted with Johnny-come-lately fans from the other side of the Atlantic regurgitating Narratives to try and fit in with their fellow Manchester Red fans
Mike Dean's been removed from duty for our game vs Chelsea. No reason yet from what I can see but certainly seems to add fuel to the fire in that Dean may have said something that angered Poch/ Jesus.
I can’t believe he was the appointed ref for Wednesday as well At least some good has come out of Poch losing his ****. I think he should do it more...sick of the refs being crap at their job
He was only gonna be fourth official for the Chelsea game but I think that could’ve been worse as he’d have been right next to Poch and Perez. Perez may only be about 5”5 but I wouldn’t wanna **** with him, he’s got a death stare that’d make most people **** their pants, he’d have been ready to spark Dean out on the touch line
I think it's just routine when there's been this kind of bust up and it's probably a sensible decision. The FA and Premier League know exactly what was said, as Mark Clusterfuck has suggested, but I doubt we'll ever find out. Not until Pochettino's next book, anyway.
He will be, as will Jesus Perez. Probably just fines, though. He's never done anything worthy of a charge before, IIRC.
Why hasn't he been yet? Lee Bowyer has and their game was a Saturday afternoon KO. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47362496
Less straightforward case, perhaps? Probably don't want Pochettino responding to a charge with Dean's comments, either.
Because the FA know that if they charge him, what Dean said will come out into the open. Damage limitation I'd guess.
Are you Spike Milligan cos this is comic genius...didn't think you'd top your sell Kane master piece but you have more than beat it. Take a bow son take a bow
