Where were you RCL? I was in 133. I’ve rarely been happier to see Hart picking the ball out the back of his net. I think Burnley had two booked for time wasting but it could have been 3 or 4 to be honest.
Block 133...row 16 ... the ****ers was really enjoying wasting time in the second half ... kept looking round after goal kicks with a smug look so it was fantastic watching him deflate...from Champions League and Title winner to time wasting cheat...great career trajectory
Seconded, I was just in front in row 13 and had a grandstand view of him looking glum...excellent!! Of all the days when we could have been there for the taking if Burnley had actually turned up to play, it was so satisfying to win it at the death with a scrappy goal from a long ball
‘It looked as if the Clarets would come away with a deserved point following a tremendous defensive display.’ I hate the feckin’ BBC
I've tried to find something good to say about Burnley's last 2 games at Wembley against us..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................(thinking)......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................(Nope, got nothing.)
Time it took Poch to reach 100 Premier League wins: 169 games Time it took Wenger to reach 100 Premier League wins: 179 games This appears to have annoyed the tRooooFEEEz crowd a bit...
There is an alleged stat that in the PL seasons since Pochettino has been in charge, Spurs have taken the most PL points (well over 300) .
Can you imagine how it would have been written if Burnley were playing Liverpool in the same circumstances... "and Liverpool eventually ground out a deserved win" no doubt.
Currently on 337, while in that same timeframe The Sheikh Mansour Team picked up 367 - although the vast majority of that difference was amassed last season
Not a single mention about the persistent time wasting by Burnley on MOTD. Well it would have been a surprise if there had been.
Love it when a team parks the bus for 90 minutes then lose it at the end...****in shame tossers COYS!
Perhaps the FA need to look into time wasting. Not all teams can rely on favourable refereeing to get past it. They won't of course but it would be nice to recognise that it detracts from the game of football greatly. And as long as you can get away with it, it's consequence free. A couple of yellows are not a deterrent because either the ref won't give one, or if he does he is very unlikely to give a second for time wasting. Also the right amount of time is rarely if ever added on (again only certain teams seem to benefit from lengthy added time), meaning that a large proportion of time wasting is actually effective. Refs also rarely add on time for time wasted after the 90th minute, such as for subs etc. Moreover, teams don't play normally after the 90th - it's a kind of psychological barrier I think - so I'm not sure if they use any added time that well. OK we got away with it yesterday, but I'm not sure it's the norm. Not only that, but as we found if you score early in added time, the opposition still get the opportunity to attack (maybe for the first time in the match....) in time that they've caused to be added on. Surely the time wasting team should not benefit? It's not like added time is some kind of bonus for the team that was deprived of it - it's only adding on time they should have had anyway. Perhaps there could be a system whereby the team that has lost time is not disadvantaged. It's probably not workable, but wouldn't it be nice if when the team that lost out to time wasting scores (the winner) in extra time, the game ends instantly. Probably not only not workable, but I bet certain teams would benefit from any new rules more than others!
