    Winks played fairly well.
Slightly at fault for their goal and overrun in the 2nd half, but neither were entirely on him.

True but would Winks want to stick around for yet another season as a squad player whose game time will only decrease further now that Bentancur is here?

Winks is on record as wanting regular first team football do I think that unless he gets that he will want to move. Doesn't strike me as being happy to just sit around for the money tbh.

Like I said during the match, he looks more progressive in his passing now that players seem more willing to show for the ball in tight spaces.

Conte has definitely improved his performances and I thought he did OK yesterday.

At the moment that struck me has a fairly typical Spurs performance, there were good bits and not so good bits. Brighton play an attractive style, but in many respects its a style that we like playing against because though they keep the ball moving well, they offer you a chance and last night we took enough of the chances to win and truth be told if we had been clinical we could have scored 5 or more, but equally Brighton were always in the match, but we did restrict them to very few clear cut opportunities and even the goal that they scored was a little fortunate, (as were 2 of ours).

Good to see Kane getting closer to his best, (he is still not at his most clinical), and Romero looks a class act that we need to keep fit for the rest of the season. Other than that everyone else contributed without really standing out for me, I like the look of Bentancur who once paired with Skipp could form a very good 2 in centre midfield.

Would like a kind home draw but I expect we will get Chelsea away its that sort of season.

Why is it that we can beat Brighton who have twice recently held Chelsea to draws but we can't get close to Chelsea?

When Bentancour came on, he had so much adrenaline, I thought he was going to give a penalty away with his first action.

It would be interesting to know how many on this board were at the game. It makes a huge difference to see a player's movements and see their contribution.
I don't understand the idea behind saying Kulu was slow. To me he seemed very measured and knew exactly what he was doing. Think Berbatov.

I’ve gotta feeling this is why Brighton plus Mali have been happy to continue playing him, or at least I’d hope that’s why.

From a sporting perspective you can certainly see why they’d want him playing as he was brilliant last night, albeit it’s definitely a grey area at this moment in time.

Sometime it just happens that way with some teams.
I thought Kulu was a couple of thoughts ahead of some of the team, even Harry was surprised by the lay off and snatched at it.

Not at the game , my initial thought that Kulu was slow occurred when we had a couple of man on man breaks and he looked like he was treading water rather than breaking away ,it ended with a poor sideways pass to Reggie or Bergwjin wide left , I t could have been over caution on his debut and I'm more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt , a plus point was that he was looking for the open man which for a long time I constantly see our players running head down up blind allys
As for Berbatov I saw no evidence of him having a *** on

If the cameo was anything to go by I agree. Both gritty yet technically sound players. He looks like he’ll suit the Premier League well, albeit just like Romero, I think he may enjoy collecting a few cards along the way!

I’d say both new boys had promising cameos though and if they can adjust quickly it should show considerable improvements to the team - which makes a damn change from a lot of signings over the last 5 years! I said last night Kulusevski should’ve ended with an assist but thinking back he could’ve had two as he teed up Kane quite nicely on the edge of the box who then skied it, albeit it was with his weaker foot but you still would’ve at least expected it to be on target when considering the quality of the player. Can see why Zlatan’s been full of praise of him though in the past and why he won Serie A young player of the year a couple seasons back.

I think you're right about Winks he is more progressive these days. Less Captain Crab than he was which must be Conte's influence.

I think that's why he's started shooting from distance, too.

All the big teams left were kept apart.

I’m just glad it’s not Chelsea. Although realistically I can only see Spurs winning this competition if they can avoid playing Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea so need them to be drawn against each other in the last 8 and last 4.
