Just got back. What a frustrating game. Was Burnley at Wembley all over again, though thankfully with the exact same result! The maestro pulls through right when we needed him too. Thought he was great today too, kept trying to unlock that stubborn Brighton defence and it was just reward that his hard work paid off. PLEASE SIGN A NEW DEAL! Rose was great in the first half and I thought Big Vic looked solid, good to see him looking back to his old self, his fitness is still a concern though.
Way back when we were linked to a pair of Brighton centre backs, Lewis Dunk and Grant Hall Apparently we signed the latter...
We got moe than one...we got three points. As in 2 more than Chelsea did v Burnley and 3 more than Arsenal did v Palace. Thank **** the crowd continued to scream themselves hoarse, especislly the wall...was a joy to see our noise grind the time wasters down rather than whine like you. Do you think city gave a toss about their performance against us on Saturday? Do you think Chelsea and Arsenal are happy they scored more than one goal? If you can not be happy with a last minute winner that puts us 3 clear of Chelsea, 4 clear of Arsenal (they have a game in hand) 6 clear of United(they have a game in hand) then whst is the point in being a fan? We have played Liverpool,Palace, City, Huddersfield, City, City and Brighton in 24 days. We were desperately unlucky at liverpool, comfortable v palace, excellent v city, good v Huddersfield, excellent v city, good and unlucky v city, never in danger tonight but limited...No Kane, No Dier, No Sissoko, No Winks, No Lamela...but still are 3rd Chill gooner couple...all is good tonight
A star who is recognised all over the world is pictured at the game alongside KWP and some bloke in camo pants
I think everything's probably already been said, but I'd just like to point out one particularly ****ty piece of timewasting. Ryan put the ball out for an "injury" and when it was played back to him from the throw-in he decided not to pick it up or kick it. He took a touch and waited until he was closed down, which nobody does in that situation, as it's poor sportsmanship. Totally against the spirit of the game and I'm glad he got what he deserved at the end: nothing.
He didnt front up against City when everyone needed to roll their sleeves up....thats a fact. He still needs to learn to get a free kick over the wall now n again and tonights wonderful winner does not change the fact that he hasnt scored from a free kick since 2015 i knew there would be someone tonight who churns this out once that ball hit the back of the net No one questioned his attacking prowess when we are on the front foot and i dont know anyone who wants him sold...i know alot of people are resigned to it and discussing life without him for next season.
It was the quickest goal kick he took ( before we scored ) and Rose (IIRC) was barely injured. He got up within seconds.
To me, it looked like he knew Rose was getting up and only then did he kick it out. I can't be certain but it looked totally cynical. Like Foster and Watford at Wembley, it was a joy to see them collapse at the end. Anti-football @ £65 per ticket.
There is someone who would sell the most important member of the team but as far as I’m concerned you are priceless, Spurs very own MasterCard.
From northstandchat.com (Brighton Fan Forum): That place really is football porn. Magnificent stadium, I really can’t see how you can improve on that. So many other big stadia have weak points, but well done THFC, your new home is just top drawer. Public transport post match was dreadful, but I gather they are still working on that. Stunning stadium, easily the best in the UK I thought it was much better than the London stadium, the Emirates and the Etihad .Very good wifi. That end opposite to us was very impressive. Good atmosphere as well. Agree with all of the above - simply an amazing place. Sure everything was 'nice' but personally think grounds like that are too big..I would hate to be a season ticket holder in that last row of that stand stand that was opposite us. I also think a few shelves to put your pint on while eating your pie would be a good idea.... (There's always one dickhead in any review. I went to a fabulous hotel and some loony wrote on Tripadvisor that "the fish was very bony - 1*." He probably thinks we should sell Harry Kane as well - raving nutter).
And an incompetent ref let him get away with it all game. And the 3 times they kicked the ball away. And don't get me started on Andone and his 4 yellow cards!
YAY! That's me. And I love it. Except for the stewards who now insist the cameras are on us and we have to sit down. It kills the atmosphere.
Well that's our reaction gifs sorted for the next five years... https://preview.redd.it/6ap67v8mo3u21.gif?format=mp4&s=63c89e8837f3b7565473e5ad2a17f28d4857be5c
The piece of paper he had in his hand was a Tottenham programme???? That was never going to put off Adolf. edit - may need a few greats in there
1. Very good atmosphere...the crowd really pulled the players through a difficult match ... being in the wall was great. 2. The refereeing was appalling. The stamp in the first half was the opposite end from us and we clearly saw it yet not even a yellow (which would have been his second). Three times their players kicked a ball away and none were carded even though it was blatant. And the jeeper was allowed to take a minimum of 20 seconds per goal kick and the ref did nothing even though he had to constantly tell him to hurry up. In the first hslf there was just 1 minute added on yet they were time wasting constantly. In the second half he kept tapping his watch to show it would be added on, yet when the board went up it was for just 4 minutes ... there had been 6 second hslf subs which makes 3 mins so they added a whole minute for sll that time wasting. I am glad, cos they they didn't deserve any more but if we hadn't scored I hsve been really ****ed off that they would have effectively been rewarded for blatant cheating. 3. I have no issue with teams turning up and being boring or defensive...I would hate us to play like that but it is a legit tactic. I do however object to paying hard earned money watching players who earn £40,000 per week turning up and cheating by blatantly time wasting from the 5th minute. Tbh after watching their **** last night I hope Brighton go down...was like watching a ****ing pullis team. 4. Was pleased that the team kept on til the last minute...shows the CL semi is not their only priority. 5. That game is further proof that moving home was absolutely the right thing to do...we would not have won that at wembley...the atmosphere (from the wall in particular) played a huge part in driving the players on. Can't stand Rose but he was visably bolstered by the crowd as was Janssen when he came on. 5. Come on you wolves 6. Come on city
