Good first half for the spectator and an improvement for us. 6 or 7 - 2 would be an accurate reflection of the good chances and you kind of know that failure to kill the game in such a dominant half will come back to bite us.
Playing much more direct now, much better. We are never going to score every chances, but a percentage will go in so we just need to keep it up. Son has wasted a few good chances as usual so I’m sure he will score in the second half.
Great match to be at...their goal was blinding and then some of our football has been very good. Bentencur, Maddison, Solanke, kuluchevski, VDV, Johnson have all been very good. The missed chances making me very nervous though
The positives are definitely Johnson getting into goalscoring positions and converting, and Solanke getting deep into the 6 yard box. We are doing ok, but trying to walk the ball into the net on occasions. Sonny needs to get a goal and Kulusevski needs to turn promise into goals. Vicario, claimed a couple of crosses, but nearly gave a goal away by some ridiculous ****ing about in the edge of the 6 yard box. He worries the **** out of me!!
Classic example of brainless play. Their defender is boxed in at the corner and cannot turn. So a Spurs player should run to get in front of the next Brentford player (to prevent that backheel) .
Our insistence in letting perfect be the enemy of good in the opposition area is an issue The main positive is that we at least get into the opposition area often enough to offset that to a degree, unlike under Conte where we had the same mindset but created like 2-3 chances a game if we were lucky
