Maybe or maybe not BUT it was eaten in England BEFORE it was eaten in Scotland. The modern kilt was designed by an Englishman but don't tell the Scotch ok.
The pub was very close to the Cam Rd.50 yards? I think it's gone now.Not the Prince Albert. Drives you crazy when you can't remember!!!!!
Changed its name to "The Turkey" in later years. Was closed (sometime in the 2010s AFAIK) and is now houses.
You watched the Korean videos where they just follow Son around on the pitch? I find them interesting
It's a very different approach to the game. Following a player rather than a team strikes me as strange, but I'm sure plenty of stuff that we do seems odd to them, too. The commentary when he scores is superbly mental. Must be nice for them to have a genuine superstar break through.
I don't think people quite realise how big he is...plus no bias whatsoever but he's probably the best Asian footballer in a very very long time. Best the PL has seen... People will say J S Park at United but that's trophies not how good the player is. I enjoy the commentary...mad stuff
Park was very hardworking and dependable, plus he could play a variety of roles and rarely let the side down. Pochettino would have loved him. Son's far more talented and dangerous though, as well as hardworking and humble. Now that we've helped him to reduce his military service, I expect that there'll be a bunch of teams trying to pick him off.
Following a specific player, and consequentially whatever team the player is at, is becoming increasingly common though. Especially amongst younger fans who aren't based anywhere near the country in which their favourite player plays in. I'm thinking particularly fans in the US, Asia and the Middle East/the Arabic world, who get introduced to football through video highlights of particular players on youtube and the like, and then support the teams through that. It helps that they don't have particularly engaging domestic leagues, have access to far more comprehensive live TV coverage than we do in the UK, and that even if leagues like the MLS are getting better, the draw of European teams (and particularly PL teams for the non-European audience) remains huge. I can understand it to an extent under these circumstances, especially for players like Son and Salah, who are footballing icons in their particular national and/or cultural groups.
Would like know what the THFC merchandising revenues are like for the "Asia Pac" region for this season (bet there has been a slight upturn) . Similarly for AIA and their Korea market share in the same time frame.
My mates came down from Tottenham and we'd spend Sunday evenings in there. Before I got married,of course. Great pub though. What a waste!
And ice cream. There are a lot of Italian Scots. How did you get on to this? I just came here to say that Spurs defeat of Dortmund shows that English teams are a lot stronger than they are given credit for.
You know why, you have just gone back and pulled up my quote out of context and fueled it with ice cream
