The players there have form for it, they did the same with Klopp and only started to play again once he announced he was leaving.
We need one more win from the final two games to top the CL group for certain. See what the result + walking wounded list is after the NLD, and go from there. If Dortmund are not up for even an EL slot, then the game will be a stroll. That aside, sad to see Dortmund players doing a Chelsky.
VfB Stuttgart 2 v 1 BVB Dortmund If dropping Aubameyang was supposed to produce a response against 11th place Stuttgart, it didn't work. That's 4 losses in their last 5 and teams are catching them fast. They could be about 8th come the end of this weekend. I sense a change of manager coming..........
please log in to view this image Tuesday 21st November 7.45pm Champions League Group Stage Westfallonstadion A poor performance by the team and an even worse one by the officials sees us head into another Champions League game after a loss. Can the team raise themselves, as they did for the win over Real Madrid or will we struggle in Germany? Our hosts are on something of a disastrous run themselves. They lost on Friday to Stuttgart and it's far from a one-off. Their last win was away to Ausburg on September 30th. They've lost four and drawn three since then. Dortmund need to win this game and hope that Real fail to beat APOEL or they're out. Do or die time. What does the game mean for us? If we match Madrid's result, then we win the group. How does Pochettino approach it though, given our form on the weekend? Is our strongest available side one which only selects fully fit players or with our top names patched up and pushed on? I think that we tried the latter on the weekend and it didn't work out well. Try again or do something different? Wanyama and Alderweireld miss out again. Everyone else should be available. Sokratis Papastathopoulos is the latest to join Dortmund's extensive injury list. Liszczek Piszczek, Marco Reus, Sebastian Rode and Erik Durm are already there, while Pulisic may join them. He pulled out of their last game in the warm-up with a muscular issue. Referee: Clément Turpin (FRA). Not known if his mates call him Dick or not. Was the ref for the Alli incident. TV: BT Sport 3. Should we stick with the three at the back for this one or switch back to the four? Who needs to be left out and who needs to come back into the side? Should we attack a demoralised Dortmund side or try to hit them on the break, as we did at Wembley?
I would like not to start with as many of Alli/Kane/Winks as possible in order to rest them for the PL game. The APOEL home game is a last resort to top the group, and the injury situation may be far better then. Setup more or less as we did at Wembley for starters. If Dortmund are nowhere near that, then a formation change to something more usual is ok.
Completely agree. The squad is in weird shape at the moment with a few key players out injured and a host more returning from injury. This game is unexpectedly relaxed, with us through and Dortmund all but out. Unless they want the EL as a a way of further disrupting their flagging domestic campaign, I don't see them caring too much about the result. Our final game - at home to APOEL - should be enough to secure 3 pts and top spot. Saturday's game just became so much more crucial and trickier due to the new manager factor. Never happening, but I'd like to see us rest as many players as possible whilst experimenting with raw pace and see how it goes. Hugo Aurier Foyth Dave Rose Dembele Winks Sissoko Son GKN Llorente For me. I can see a 4-4 draw with that side.
Nice to see that there's a policeman keeping an eye on the Scouse. The ****'s going on with his shorts?
