Kaboul is pure class. Top notch athlete, too. He has the potential to become a truly world class centre back if he continues to develop at this rate.

Yesterday's win has filled me with no renewed hope for the last 3 matches of the season. We will know on Wednesday whether we still have a chance of 3rd. I think Chelsea's unbelievable luck might yet still hold in the CL.

  4. Think you'll find that any comments about Lennon were questioning why he didn't come off immediately at 2-0 after 75mins. Personally cannot see the point in risking him at that stage, knowing he has been somewhat 'delicate' injury-wise lately and we have another game in 3 days!! Even I don't need a crystal ball to work that one out..... ;-)

Thanks, THFC6061. Most if not all of those games have been in the second half of the season when we've struggled more in general which makes it more impressive.

<laugh> Did you hear the comment after Lennon misses and Sandro hits the bar. 'Tottenham haven't opened them up so far.'

I liked the bit at the end, Spurf.
"Blackburn Rovers fans, if you're wondering, so far, why you haven't seen a highlight of your team, there simply hasn't been one."
    <laugh> Harsh, but true! <laugh>

As for their corner, suddenly our set pieces looked better...

What I found amazing was how Blackburn looked so relaxed in a game that was so vital to them and in which they contributed so little. How can you be that bad AND that relaxed.

I refer to the chant "You;re **** and you know you are" for the most logical explanation.

I don't know whether to feel sorry for Kean or to look at him as the likely cause of the situation.
They should've been fighting for every ball yesterday, but they looked resigned to the loss from the first minute.

Surely the players knew the QPR result gave them a glimmer of hope, but instead they seemed to think they were going down because of Wigan's run of form.

Anyone remember the Argentina/Greece game in the last World Cup? It was 90 minutes of Greece closing down and keeping it tight, even though they were already 1-0 down in a game they needed to win in order to go through even with results going their way for a period. Blackburn seemed to adopt that mentality, try to keep it tight and cling on for a point - but once the first goal went in, they kept to a strategy that wasn't going to have the desired effect because you can't win a point when 1-0 down and showing no will to get back into the game.

    Sounds about right, Croydon.
Taking off Yakubu when they needed a goal seemed like a poor decision, to me.
Failing to register a single shot is just pathetic.

He was definitely to blame for the negative approach but the players were to blame lethargic performance yesterday. It's hard to recognise the side that showed such spirit to win at Old Trafford, beat Arsenal and give us a cracking game. They've had a lot of bad defending throughout the season but fixing the problem with more defenders at the cost of any threat whatsoever was very quickly shown to be a bad idea. I like Kean but it's inexcusable that he didn't change it.
