Always good to learn from your mistakes.
Far better and quicker though to learn from the mistakes of others.
 
Demba Ba booked for elbowing Chiriches. That's three fouls from him in the first five minutes.
 
Davies joins Ba in the book. Very early and very silly.

We need to slow this down a bit and control the play. It's a bit too quick at the moment.
 
The team just does not have the ability to pass and control the ball at speed.
Not a problem for Besiktas.
 
Ba hits the woodwork. Sloppy defending and a possible handball from them.
Corner? Did Lloris touch that?
 
The team selection seems wrong for this, so far. Lennon and Dembele would appear to have been better choices.
 
Lovely goal from Kane. Great little turn from Bentaleb, puts him into some space and then a lovely finish from about 20 yards out.
Really nice finish.
 
Bentaleb and Chiriches look well off the pace. Hopefully we can settle but as PNP said, Lennon and Dembele on for Paulinho and, well, I was going to say Kane but.......

I'd still take the Brazilian off now if I could. Great hit from Kane though.
 
Apparently 2,800 Besiktas fans have made the long journey to WHL tonight from Holloway... <whistle>
 
Nice run and pass from Townsend and a decent shot from Kane, despite the **** angle.
He's had three attempts and so have we, I think.
 
Why the hell did Paulinho just header that straight to one of their players? <doh>

A very mixed half, in my opinion. Kane did well, Townsend had flashes, Lloris was good and Fazio was solid, but the rest varied from average to invisible.
Did Soldado even touch the ball?

Chiriches is all over the place whenever he's closed down, Davies picked up a silly, unnecessary, early yellow, Bentaleb looked a bit overawed, though his contribution to the goal was good and Stambouli did some things well and struggled with others.
Paulinho and Soldado may as well have not been playing.
