I get Kinsky was directly at fault for the opener but what in the school playground, over 70s pub team, waterlogged pitch, coats as goals level of football is this nonsense?? Four players converge on him and he STILL gets the pass away. The cockerel on our crest needs to be replaced with a headless chicken.
It's actually worse if you see the phase prior to that screenshot A simple pass five yards to the right and our entire midfield has been sidestepped Bergvall is about the only player not at fault there please log in to view this image
It summarises why, for me, Ange has to go. His position is indefensible. I have never seen such a chaotic, haphazard style of play. Nothing we do seems rehearsed, planned or practiced in any way. It's like we expect to play and win football games by accident.
Just watched the highlights back again. If you want to see the dictionary definition of "can't be arsed for this", watch Bentancur's movement in the build up to their second goal. What an absolute disgrace of a player. One of many I want gone in the summer.
Son has given everything for us. If he is no longer good enough to play that is on the club and manager not producing replacements. I wish we had more that cared as much as Son.
Bentancur, Bissouma, Richarlison & Ben Davies (for different reasons) all need to be moved on. Also the likes of Maddison and Brennan Johnson could easily be sold and I don’t think many would care. The squad is unbalanced and needs major surgery in the summer (anyone else got Deja vu)
This was the first thing I noticed. It's like they gave him the equivalent to a police escort through the middle of the park. Kinksy error was shocking for that goal, but no more so than this in my humble opinion.
Apologies to all. This came out a lot harsher than it was meant. Lots of emotion for me outside of football around yesterday. Just hard caring about something so much and seeing it all go completely tits up. I don’t know what to think anymore. Really appreciate the debate on this board whether agree or not agree and slagging off a club legend in that manner should be the last place my anger is directed. Not as angry as angry Matt though for anyone who follows talksport!
ultimately, you were right to a certain extent though. Son does have the ability to make a difference, where as we don’t. so I get your frustration. But it’s not just him, it’s most of them on the pitch who aren’t doing enough. Too many stinking the place out. Then there’s the manager, and the board, which has been discussed constantly. Personally I’m finding it really interesting seeing so many fans using words like “disconnected” when describing their feelings toward the club at the moment. It feels like there’s been a real shift in momentum recently, in the sense of the straw finally breaking the camels back for so many. I’ve basically felt like this since we sacked Poch. Well, it was more the hiring of Mourinho actually. It’s from this stage a few years ago that broke me, as such. So I get how everyone feels, it’s really ****, and it’s exhausting. But at the same time, other than getting relegated, I think we’ve reached a point regarding the footballing side of things at THFC, where things can’t get much worse. So there is that.
My son and I are always criticising Son these days. Ange should manage this situation much better and adapt to Son’s situation. This could mean resting him more or having him start from the bench a bit more. But ultimately, Son at present isn’t coping with playing every 3-4 days and nor are many others. Ange was correct in his after-match comments yesterday that these players have been playing for weeks with very little rest. Yes there are injuries but he could still rest players. Ben had a little rest so he could have rested Gray yesterday. He could have played Reggie. He has thrown Kinsky in at the deep end when he could have used Austin and integrated Kinsky slowly. The likes of Kule and Son desperately need a rest. He could easily rest them. But no, he’s the one constantly playing them and running them into the ground. He needs to stop hiding behind the excuses of our injuries. He’s the cause of probably half of them by not rotating. Despite these injuries, he’s still playing a core group of players constantly with no respite.
Just read Ali Gold’s latest piece and came across this: “Some of the frustrated travelling fans at Villa Park sang for Mauricio Pochettino” Did anyone hear it on the tele? Gotta be honest I didn’t, though I did drink about 3-4 pints of quite potent scrumpy so I probably wasn’t laser focused on crowd chants.
I stopped going regularly shortly into Mourinho's reign and going at all a couple of years ago. After 50 years, I just couldn't see the point if the club (Levy) was going to make dreadful decision after dreadful decision. We have sufficient money to build a very useful team and squad. Under the right coach, we could win things...but it's clear that rigid financial prudence, increasing ENIC's investment and developing property come first, second and third. Footballing success seems to come below Beyoncé, karting and a whole load of other activities that should be less important. Now that we're back to scrabbling for minor European football (and failing 2 out of the last 3 seasons), with no stadium sponsorship and no doubt, falling sponsorship from kit manufacturers, shirt sponsors, etc., what's next? Arsenal's owners sunk a load of money into the club to get them back at the table. We're sinking further with little prospect of ours putting in anything financial, or behaving materially differently to how we ended up here. I love the shirt and will always...but enough is enough of this ****.
