the real surprise tonight was how well kane played on the left.

got the biggest cheer of any player going off, and rightly so. he was excellent. even fryers did well - definite improvement on naughton.

 

Maybe Kane learnt how to play on the left from watching Lineker

 

well yes, i would have to probably say that my lineker claim is looking a little tenuous now.

 

You can Hang onto it, as cruyff played Lineker on the left wing at barca.

it is funny that but also ****ing stupid. he should have been sent off for that. hope to **** he doesnt try to repeat it in a league game.

 

Has Jermain Defoe done enough to deserve a start against Chelsea?

He has 6 goals & 1 assist in 307 minutes played so far this season.

And believe it or not, Spurs have now scored 20 times more goals than we've conceded so far this season.

 

i cant see him dropping soldado, and i cant see him playing both of them.

Holtby was quality and Paulinho is really making waves in English football now. Just needed some cohesion with his team mates and that's definitely coming! Conceded 1, won 8/9 and scored 20. Great start. Chelsea next. This one's the test. There are advantages to so many games early on. Players need to be bedded in and get to know their team mates and tactics; best way is to play, they need to get to peak fitness fast, we need to have a look at the newbies in different positions and who is best where. Plus with the season only just starting they shouldn't be knackered yet and we've really only had 1 tough game against a rival - lots of time to prepare before we play games against our direct competitors !

An advantage if you ask me. Especially with so many new players.

 

Yeah, funny how that's gone. Jan had another howler today, Walker, Naugton and Dawson have all made some awful mistakes. Total clown show, really. Imagine how horrible we'd think they are if they'd given up more than one goal in nine games...

 

20 goals yes but only 25% of those goals in the league which concerns me a tad.

It's been a great start, the team imo are gelling even quicker than expected.

We're not going to win every game or score 2 or 3 goals every game but this is one solid squad we have!

Just looking forward to Ade coming back.

Why?, we've only played against rubbish in the cups, we've played Arsenal in the league...traditionally never exactly a goalfest for us.
