I’d like to see that exact team against Leicester. They deserve another match. Excellent pace, good pressing and some incisive passers.
Drab goalless draw in Switzerland sees Klopp's Liverpool top Europa League group as Sion also qualify for knockout stages Lamela lights up White Hart Lane with first-half hat-trick as Tottenham ease into last 32
Just got home from a conference. It's bloody hard trying to address 200 people when you've got your mobile hidden underneath the lectern with the live feed running and bloody Lamela scoring a hat-trick! Judging by the comments on here (far more reliable than the Liverpool ****-fest going on over on the BBC), sounds like it was a really good performance in which a host of fringe players made massive, massive statements about their future at the club. Absolutely delighted for Erik and for Tommy, whose goal had more than a touch of Messi about it. But as he wasn't wearing a red shirt with 'Standard Chartered' written on it, I doubt anyone in the media will make that comparison. It certainly looks like Townsend's Spurs career is finally over. Can't say I'm too sad about that. He's had far more opportunities than the likes of Carroll to impress and simply hasn't improved whatsoever in 3 years. I think he'd be a good addition to a bottom-half club. Maybe Swansea would swap him for Gomis? If anyone (I think it's usually RDBD who does it) can post a link to the full match I will be most grateful.
Got back in from the match and just watched the highlights. Was a great 1st half and was great to see Carroll and Josh O play so well...really impressed with the performance. Also shows how our squad has some depth
Excellent night, well worth getting soaked through for. 3-1 Qarabag, 4-1 Monaco, 5-1 Bournemouth, 4-1 West Ham, 4-1 Man City. This side is not boring, Pochettino has got us playing great, attacking football. It doesn't always come off but that shouldn't be held against him. We're a young side, mistakes will be made but the talent is there and the potential is huge. Great to see Lamela get a hattrick, we just need to see that a bit more in the Prem. N'Jie is really impressing me, he's in his element in fast pace games like these. Carroll was really composed throughout and whilst some of his positioning was a bit off, he rounded off an impressive performance with an wonderful goal. Didn't he score one like that in preseason too? He seemed to know exactly what to do at a tight angle. Onomah was really good too, very bright and looked well at home at this level. COYS
Who can we get in the last 32? I heard group runner ups and non seeded CL dropouts? Sounds very confusing.
It is. Here are potential opponents. Some of the unseeded drop outs are actually very good sides. I'd prefer to avoid the likes of Sevilla and Dortmund.
Some massive clubs there, be interesting if we draw one of those. Would be typical Spurs for us to get Villareal and then Soldado scores the winning goal. #Spursy

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Lane last night, we sat in the North lower and the evening started well for me as we saw a few of my real heroes in the hospitality just behind us, Chiv, Mullers, Big Pat, and even Sicknote who looked really fit! Then the match, I was pleased with the team selected and we looked like a team on a mission right from kick off. Whilst Lamela will rightly get the plaudits for his hat-trick, Carroll was my man of the match as he linked our play from front to back so effectively, but I also thought that all the players could be pleased with their efforts, with no one looking out of place or being carried by their team mates, we really are starting to look as if we have a squad the possesses genuine strength in depth.
"What the hell? Thats the list for the group winners? In the last 32? Jeez" Some good teams in the last 32. And Man Utd + the Poool. One thing that IMHO has helped this season is the general quality of the EL group. Incomers have had to gel faster because the quality of the opponent was not like the around the world in 80 days group roster of 2013-14. It may have had knock-on effects in the PL form too (only 3 games lost in the first 4 months of the season) , and bode well for the PL campaign when UEFA games re-appear.
We can't face the group winners. Thats a list of teams that weren't good enough to top their group, somewhat bizarrely. I suspect that rotation may have played a part for some of them.
And then he'd apologise on Twitter for it immediately after the game then lock himself in his room and refuse to eat for 3 days, such is his bizarre love for Spurs.
Everyone here praising everyone but I was disappointed with the decision making by Son- we should/could/would have scored more.
