And shoutout to Vicario too. I made no secret I was concerned about him based on clips and his shakiness in pre-season (and at Brentford) but he’s been pulling off some ****ing huge saves in games, genuine goal saving saves.

Decent result, really good performance. Comfortable playing out from the back except for the Maddison one.

Bissouma immense, udogie recovered well from the first half, van der ven looking the real deal. Maddison and son quality. Sarr growing every week. Porro improving ten fold.

Maybe Darren bent will have to rethink his combined XI?

Yeah absolutely neither of the goals were his fault. They got all the decisions but a draw is a fair result

He’d need a brain to have to rethink something.

And if I ever done a combined XI like all these sad saps do, I’d have Sandra Redknapp over him.

I know that Maddison had to go off and can't argue with that, but why pull Son at the same time?
Really felt like accepting a draw when we were well on top at that point.
We desperately need decent backup for Maddison if Lo Celso's never going to be fit.

Don't sit on the fence, mate. Tell us what you really think of him!! <laugh>
Totally agree with Johnson. Not fair to throw him into that game, especially when Solomon had been excellent for the last few games. He could have had him in the bench to use his pace late on. A strange decision.

Thought we were great value for a point and could have had 3, which has not been the case at the Emirates for a good while. Ref was an absolute shambles but nothing new there.

Both teams perhaps cancelled each other out a bit, they didn’t create a whole lot and we struggled to get the possession game going.

    Bissouma was outstanding.

    Pleased with that,

As I expected, the players are not fully fluent in
the system (the 1st half showed that) . However
them lot did not stress it even close to as badly
    as I feared.

Maddison has got his understanding with Son in sync,
Son is showing he can spearhead the attack.

The only downside is that there is no real
comparable cover for Maddison, which is bad
given we now don't even have a Perisic threat.

Johnson : interesting starting XI choice,
Not not the most amenable game for your first full start,
and I hope he has not got a < standard > hamstring injury.

    Well...that's made me feel better.

Not only a point but more character shown and from reports a good second half performance.

And Son has hugely stepped up as captain

It’s nice to be able to relax and enjoy the evening! We didn’t deserve to lose but I was so sure we would, as everything went against us. I’m glad that it completely justifies the feeling about everything that Ange has brought to this team and gives us such a great momentum for the rest of the season

The actual football objectively was a tad boring. Engrossing given the context of it being a NLD and it being a 50/50 game. And a very fair result. But jeez, arsenal have been a tough watch in every home game this season so far aside from PSV and that's because they were ****e. Bit dour. Rice, Maddison, Son going off dropped the spectacle even more in the second half. Hmm. Hope at least there's a result next weekend and it's not another draw or city really will already be a mile out of sight.

Merson, Bent etc. can suck Son’s right nut.

Not his left one though as it will put his finishes out of kilter.

That result probably does far more for us than them, as we showed no fear and were rewarded while they bottled the lead twice and were as petulant as their obnoxious turd of a manager...so expect hysterics from AFTV

Vicario and Micky Van were both immense today

On the other hand Johnson kept making runs a half second too soon, which gave Raya that highlight reel save, which on paper can be sorted out by January...if his going off was a precaution, anyway

Brilliant result today. One of our hardest games of the season out of the way. Far better result for us than Arsenal. All I heard prior to the game was how Arsenal would batter us. Not the case at all, infact, we held our own.

The fact we only have 1 game a week could make this season very interesting. Just gotta keep as many players fit as possible, and we’re in with a really chance of a top 4 finish.
